Esteban Gutierrez is in the Sauber instead of Kamui-san 41. F1 is supposed to be the pinnacle of motorsport, yet because of all the annoying drivers and background politics, a lot of people are being drawn to Endurance racing, which is cheaper to watch, more fan friendly and will soon have better racing. And it has bright yellow 'Vettes, and F1 doesn't.
In their defence, they are kind of hamstrung. At first, Bernie wanted the fresh blood, thinking that they'd bring more new money into the sport than they were able to, which is understandable given the economic situation. But since they failed to add to the inflation of F1 in the way Bernie had expected, he wants rid and makes it increasingly difficult for them to get ahead. In short, I think they are more victims of circumstance and the power within the sport rather than being intrinsically hopeless - F1 FAIL!

Slater fired for McKenzie, but Herbert and Damon Hill can stay! 40: Get rid of that ****ty "just drive" tune IT SUCKS and it wants to make me drown myself as it's such a depressing song! 41: Tell Ferrari to stop talking in some 3rd world language! Speak English please and catch up with the rest of the world! 42: Webber is a better driver than Jenson.
Sauber also had a much better design platform, Caterham and Marussia had 6 months to design their first car and have been playing catch-up ever since.
Another F1 gripe - a team like Sauber is on the brink of folding while a team like Caterham is pottering about happy as larry at the back.
Also, i want to re-iterate a prior point i made, it's unacceptable that an LMP1 car should be more technologically advanced than the best F1 car. If it wasn't for the weight difference, i honestly reckon an LMP car could lap circuits quicker than F1 cars. Give it a few years and the FIA would have slowed F1 down so much that even a GT car will be quicker. And hopefully more yellow...
Don't agree with this, the drivers are the only thing F1 has going for it right now. Susie Wolff is starting to piss me off now, she's everywhere, I reckon she's had more media coverage than any of the drivers who are actually on the grid in the last couple of weeks, she was on the BBC's Inside F1 thing again, she's becoming the James Corden of F1. Agree with Kyle's comments about LMP vs F1.
Hans and Silver you guys are the ****ing bomb. And the only hope for fans not on the Sky/Mercedes bandwagon. I left because you guys were never around. Now I wish I was back full time. All your points are true. Stay strong F1 might sort it's ****ing act out one day.
Don't get me wrong, i love Le Mans, LMP1 cars and Vettes, but....... even at the same weight LMP1 would stand no chance at all lap time wise. The downforce is much lower and they got less horse power also. LMP1 engines just have like ~ 500hp (plus ~218hp ERS), you know? F1 in 2014 will be at ~ 600-650hp (plus 160hp ERS).
This was never the idea! It was suggested following a series of FIA fudges culminating in the pit rule U-turn earlier this week. Maybe I sexed it up a bit when I wrote the OP and I shouldn't have.
