So you're happy that the header for the e-mail notification for the Chelsea away match was "Hull Tigers AFC?"
If you stopped reading after the first sentence, how did you know that I mentioned our name in the media? I didn't say it should be left up to a fans vote, you're right, that'd be chaos, but the fans should have some say in any major changes that would take place. Whether that's through the gathering of opinion through a poll, an OSC meeting or a radio phone in style thing. When a business wants to test a new product, they have focus groups whereby they invite members of the public to see if the product is a success. If it bombs, they get a team together and work out what the problem is. If it isn't going to work, they scrap it. There seems to be no thoughts as to what the fans really want and I suspect that even if the all the fans were totally against it, I get the feeling they'd probably go ahead and do it anyway. The idea of Hull City as a business is to make money. If they alienate the majority of the fans (who spend money through merchandise, ticket sales, season pass sales, food concessions, tigers player, etc), then how can they expect to do that? People might still attend, but it's going to make for a very hostile atmosphere on matchdays and as we've demonstrated with the WYP fiasco, we can be very, very vocal when we aren't happy. And on the media front, they call us Hull in passing but most media outlets refer to us as Hull City when reading out results or running features.
This is really the key point that te majority seem to not grasp despite the many comments on this thread. There's a big difference between being happy about something and not being upset.
I should have said I stopped giving your opinion credibility. The pathetic thing here is the idea tht fans would start supporting ferriby, stop buying shirts or year up their season tickets because of a slight name change. That's something to write an worry about... not a name change. The day we take 100 random city fans to help us make a decision like this or if we take note of any opinion voiced by the majority of daft ****s phoning in then that's when Hull city will be in trouble.
As the nearest you get to supporting Hull City is posting on here, I'm not sure your credibility rating is that high either.
Are you gonna use this much more? lol Sad little man. I have more support in me than many moaning ****s that attend games week in week out. The **** I hear when I go to away games is ****ing embarrassing. Why don't you write a letter about it? Oh and while you're at it, your comment applies to all the expats that are on this forum. Good on you big boy! You must be proud.\ Kinda funny that you talk about brand and seem to think you know how to expand the Hull city brand yet you choose to alienate fans who can't attend games. ps: I might be a little off target, just a little but this is how I picture you

This is why I don't think you understand the issue. We accept people are going to shorten Hull City AFC to Hull City or Hull but what is not acceptable is to change Hull City or Hull by adding Tigers onto them. It's not about omission it's about addition. Do you understand now?
Not being funny but we are as you say known as Hull, Hull City, Tigers, I thought that joining the name to Hull City Tigers was a natural progression and is in no way just an addition. Pappa also paid for the honour of doing it as I recall.
I didn't say that. What do you mean "natural progression"? Changing one name to another is not a progression it's simply a change. Anyway, I have just seen that the name is definately changing to Hull City Tigers because Tigers is a "stronger" brand than AFC. This is supposedly from somebody inside the club so if Nick Thompson has said something different he should be resigning if he lied.
I love how you ignore my points when you know you're wrong. You're saying my opinion has no real value because I cannot attend many games. I'm saying that this then applies to a **** load of other posters who can't go for various reasons, whether it be financially or transport related and therefore that includes the many expats that are on here. So you said a ****ish thing and you're trying to blag your way around it. We could do with fewer "know it all, thinks he's above the rest of us" types like you at this club. Appalling mentality to have.
Used to be I preferred not to change, but didn't really have an issue with it. Now, after reading all the arguments to and fro I have changed my views, the more I see of "Hull City Tigers" the more it grows on me. Looked great in the photo' with Sagbo. Hope the change is made soon. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/BQGzarzCUAAO3Cp.jpg:large
I only became really concerned with the email for the Chelsea away tickets having HULL TIGERS AFC on it.
