In all honesty what do you expect Rodgers to say ?

Spurs have re Bale and Modric haven't they?

LFC are playing lip-service to the fans.

Rodgers has a duty to look tough - how will we attract new fans and new players if we look like a soft touch?

In your ideal world you wrap the deal up quick and quiet. Our prerogative, that is not.

There should be no animosity between our fans. Mutual respect only. We all dislike United and Chelsea. Always liked Arsenal since that 2003 side.

EDIT: And if split hairs we must, Rodgers has won the Championship Playoffs.

He can big up Liverpool without questioning Arsenal. It is quite simple and is what 99% of clubs do.

No, Spurs may go public with their criticism of a buying club's pursuit of the player but they don't actually question the stature of other clubs, which is what Rodgers is doing.

When John Henry bought Liverpool, he said that he was a fan of the Arsenal model and that is what he wants to replicate at Liverpool, now one of his players want to be part of the Arsenal model and suddenly people are shocked and confused?

You're wrong about the 99%.You will often hear a selling club question the size, history of the club who is trying to buy a player

Spurs and Madrid is a cavernous vacuum compared to ourselves.

I'm not surprised - a brilliant model Arsenal are.

No-one is shocked he wants to move, but shocked he would move to a side that isn't challenging (no offence).

Rodgers would not have to make these comments if Suarez and the public nature of Arsenal's bids, plus Giroud's comments hadn't come to light. He's being asked at every press conference... and likes a soundbite a little much. His duty on tour is to look commanding and keep selling the club... not ingratiate with Wenger. A pity things aren't smoother but it's reality, yes.

We have the money now to start challenging, so that's why getting Suarez would make sense for both people. He will also work under one of the best ever Prem managers in history.

I really don't understand this "not challenging" line. Clearly we have the money to challenge now and players like Suarez may see our project (building a title challenging team) more appealing than Liverpool's (building a team to challenge for 4th).

When Man City were taken over by the Sheikhs, they weren't challenging. Didn't stop a heap of world class players going there, though.

For both people? Sense for us it does not make - and he is still our player.

I would like to see Arsenal challenge ahead of Chelsea, United and then City, believe me. But those sides have been spending consistently for years - it will take time for a proper challenge (unless your squad really progresses well).

City can hardly be compared to yourselves right now. They are and were willing to spend and pay wages far in advance of yourselves. Rightly or wrongly.

The thing is - 26 Suarez is. Can he afford a year or two at a side 'building' for a challenge? That's why we feel that if move he must, then to Madrid he should go.

Also... is noone worried that Liverpool will wait for or offer Suarez to Madrid, and leave you with a month to sign a top class striker?

I'm not even vaguely surprised that Suarez would like a move to Arsenal, depending on his other options, but it'd be an awful transfer for Liverpool.
You don't strengthen teams that you're either competing with or attempting to catch. If they approve this transfer then they may as well change their club logo to a white flag.

I always thought Liverpool played better without him! Especially toward the back end of last season. If they can get a decent winger then they'll be fine with Sturridge.

Listen for a while to what the majority of Redmen are actually saying about the Suarez situation. We are not stupid; we've known for a long time that he wants away and that he would like to play for Real Madrid. Before the Arsenal offers, it was presumed that a fee of around £40 million would secure him for Real. Our major worry was the amount of time we would have to finalise replacements.

Now you may agree or not but we believe that this season is probably our best opportunity in a few seasons to make the jump back into the top 4 - with or without Suarez. Therefore Arsenal's intervention is, to us, unwanted. You are a direct competitor and therefore any fee to secure one of our best players must carry a premium. Hence, whilst we may agree 40 with Real we would/will demand in excess of 50 with you. John Henry, Ian Ayre and Rodgers have made that very clear to you. Therefore it's time for Arsenal to meet the demand or withdraw. LFC will not be backing down so hanging on in the hope that we will reduce the price closer to the end of the transfer window is not going to work.

The ball, as they say, is in your court - all the rest is media music.

Liverpool have a lot of catching up to do to even compete with Everton and Tottenham. Selling their only world class player would be silly. But I do think it will happen. As many others have said, we are all too used to players getting their own way with transfers to bigger clubs.

BTW - Hi Dubbed. How's tricks?
