I wish people would stop going on about how Old and Welsh Cym is Another good game for the lads today. Brilliant pass from Zelalem for Walcott's goal. Giroud has scored 7 now in the last 3 games and Moanu still has 'Giroud is Awful' in his sig ..... and Ramsey had another good game. Would be nice if these supporters could get behind our players this season
This is the exact same team that got nowhere near winning anything last season... let's not get carried away. And for all the talk of our outstanding run-in to last season after the Spurs game... that outstanding run-in still featured no wins in the only two difficult matches (Everton and United). If we make no major signings, then we're not suddenly going to be challenging for honours this season. We'll continue to beat the dross in the league and then draw or lose to the stronger teams, finishing 4th or thereabouts but guaranteed to be bottom of the 'top team mini league'. Beating rubbish Asian teams 27-0 with Giroud scoring 8 hat-tricks in 35 seconds means jack all really. If it did then Barca must be running scared that Real put 6 past Bournemouth. But I'm still just patiently waiting for two big signings (though my patience will ebb before too long). Last year I passed on my season ticket for the reason that I felt that the extortionate cost of the ticket would probably not be mirrored in Arsenal spending on transfers. This season I'm also passing on the season ticket for the same inclination I'm getting. But if we do somehow spend big this year and have a successful season I'll just have to hold my hands up and admit my error, but then next season I'd think about taking up Arsenal's annual email offer. Either way, my trust in Wenger is getting close to the knife edge... not sure whether it would take another inactive window and aimless season... come on Arsenal, get on it!
