Either middlesborough are idiots or they didnt do that. Why wouldn't they just keep him for 12 months if they are paying his wages rather than GIVE him to someone else for absolutely free and especially someone in the same division... Likely event is they paid him a percentage of those wages not all of them
Josh Think you might have just won there Mighty nobody is stupid enough to pay his full wages and give him to a club in the same division. They may aswell a) keep him let him rot in reserves b) loan him out and get a little bit of his wages back or c) cancel his contract by mutual consent for a fraction of what he would have received
I'm not saying it did happen, but would not be out of the ordinary. Most large companies, not just football, operate that way, its just a numbers game even though it makes no financial sense to the likes of us.

I dont think he's an idiot but he didn't get paid over 1.5m just to leave boro. In fact he'd been lucky to get 500k, clubs don't operate by just giving money to players for no reason.
I agree with you, when we first signed Diouf I thought ffs why this scumbag, but I kinda warmed to him. He didn't do too much wrong on the pitch. As for selling Mccormack, that would be a mistake IMO, he at least trys when he's on the pitch and when in recent times have we brought in a player who is better than the one we sold.

Josh it happens all the time, its a lot cheaper to pay 100% of an employees wages up front than to keep them on the books for the 3 years. The wages are only about 50% of the cost of employing someone.
