. Doubt this very much. Think we'll go with the lawyers this time if needs be lol and on that note: http://www.thisisanfield.com/2013/07/luis-suarez-contract-situation-explained/
its funny when the only sotry in town is suarez and Full story: Daily Express Liverpool have made Valencia striker Roberto Soldado, 28, their main target as they look to replace 26-year-old Luis Suarez. Tottenham have had a £22m offer for the Spain international rejected and Valencia want to sell Soldado for £26m by 3 August for tax purposes. Full story: Daily Mirror Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers says Suarez's desire to join Arsenal "does not add up" and that he is already at a bigger club than the Gunners. Full story: Daily Telegraph The Reds have told Arsenal they have a week to meet their £50m valuation of Suarez or they will miss out on the Uruguay striker. Full story: Daily Express Suarez would be happy for the Premier League to settle the mix-up over his contract clause with Liverpool. its all balls... very funny to read the way the way these guys bse thier press on what idle fools on the internet say.
If the expert opinion in that piece is right then I think frank is right in that Liverpool will go to the High Court. The Premier League can only control what is written in their contract terms - which should be universal for every registered player. However, the contract term that is in dispute is contained in a separate document and therefore not under the jurisdiction of the Premier League. The dispute therefore is between Suarez, his agent and LFC - it has nothing to do with Arsenal and they cannot influence the outcome. However there is at least a hint of a possible referral to either the FA or the Premier League for tapping-up as the clause could only be known by the parties who signed the contract and were supposed to be confidential.
So looks like we're getting serious about Soldado - hope we can seal this deal because he is a player who has the quality of pushing us to the next level. Whilst Real Madrid have said they're not interested in Suarez (or that they rather concentrate on getting Bale first), I still see them putting in a bid towards the end of the window.
Apologies if already posted but strong words from Rodgers: http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/spor...s/brendan-rogers-believes-luis-suarez-5324895. (P.S - the typo in the first sentence is from the actual website, and not down to my own stupidity) --------------------------------------------------------------- Brendan Rofgers believes Luis Suarez would be making a big mistake if he left Liverpool to join Arsenal. The Reds boss, who is battling to keep hold of the prolific Uruguay striker, has questioned why anyone would want to quit Anfield and move to the Emirates. Liverpool rejected an improved offer of £40million plus £1 from Arsenal on Tuesday with Rodgers insisting that figure is “significantly” short of their valuation of last season's 30-goal top scorer. Suarez, who arrived in Thailand with the squad yesterday, has been informed that Liverpool won't consider granting him a move until there is a bid on the table which represents his true value. Arsenal can offer Champions League football but Rodgers is trying to convince Suarez to snub their interest. The Northern Irishman expects Liverpool to be competing with the Londoners at the top end of the Premier League this season and desperately wants Suarez around to lead the charge. He said: “I know what we are trying to build and grow, so why would you swap Liverpool to go to Arsenal? “I am not sure that it adds up to be honest. Arsenal has a wonderful history in its own right, but Liverpool is one of the biggest clubs in the world. “Okay, we might not be in the Champions League and haven’t been for a while now, but our competitors have grown around us and we have to step up to the challenge now. “Would it be a mistake for Luis to leave? 100%. The team was built around Luis last season. “I made some big calls to get the team to work in a way to suit his strengths and it is no coincidence he had a great season apart from the end bit. We would love to have him to continue the next phase.” Liverpool were given another warm reception on their arrival in Bangkok for the final leg of their pre-season tour. Suarez is expected to line up against Thailand on Sunday before the squad return to the UK. “It is difficult for Luis, I understand that,” Rodgers said. “If a team wants you, it can be difficult, but I am not sure many teams will have done what we have done in the last couple of games. I am sure Luis will have seen the sheer size and status of the club on this trip. “But it is not something we want to run on too long. It is something that can’t run on too long.” Rodgers refused to be drawn on whether Suarez submitting a transfer request would force Liverpool's hand. However, the manager praised the club's principal owner John W Henry and chairman Tom Werner for their hardline stance throughout the summer-long saga. “Luis is under contract so I haven’t even thought about that (a transfer request),” Rodgers said.
I think he's exactly right. Suarez is good enough for somebody like Bayern or Real. If any other club such as Them were interested I dont think he'd consider Arsenal at all. I think he'd be better off showing this season that he can improve his discipline then next summer he'll probably get the move he wants. Arsenal may be the only champions league club that are interested at the moment but realistically if he leaves he'll be in a team that gets knocked out group stage or last 32 anyway and probably finish 4th or 5th in the league and he'll do the dirty again if one of the top teams come sniffing.
Why is it realistic to get knocked out of the group stage and finish 5th in the league WITH Suarez when we have never done that poorly without him?
Message to all the Arsenal fans eager for Suarez to join: If he will do it with you, he will do it to you.
Because you are on a downward slide. Your performances last season were rubbish and you got away with it by dint of the Spuds cocking it up. Even with Suarez in your side you'll struggle to get 4th. But unless your club can grow a pair and make a proper offer you ain't going to find out are you?
And Arsenal forward Olivier Giroud thinks their audacious bid for Suarez has sent a signal to the club's current playing staff. "We need to show ambition and the offer for Suarez has done that," said Giroud. "The club has to show the fans that we mean business. Me and my team-mates need it as well. It will be a really positive thing if we have a new striker." Giroud is looking forward to the start of the new campaign and added: "The whole team is stronger now than it was a year ago. Last season's new players are all more established. "And we've lost nobody this summer, which is the first time for Arsenal in maybe four years." How all world class players aspire to pull Arsenals jersey on
it is rather funny that the guy forgot to mention there are no more big players at arsenal. they did you well to pay wlacott, that injury wreak, 100k per week though the fact is arsenal do need to get a move on... giroud is distinctly average. podolski ran out of german clubs to flop at and they can't shift arshavin it seemed. in short is it high time they rebuilt. anyway..... suarez... hope they got on with the 50mil bid and fail to get bernard.... if suarez turns around and take 150k per week off lfc for one year to get his move next year it'll be interesting.
course you have done that poorly... not for several years but never is a bad adjective to use round here. But I think its high time to call bat here on this. Over on JA606 its well known that you have abused and hated suarez and wummed for many months. Admit you are only over here on not606 cos you can't climb down on that and are thining here you can just wum by pretending suarez is all that...
Increased competition. Liverpool and Spurs are now improving and Arsenal have been clinging on to 4th by skin of their teeth last few years and they never do well in champs league anyway. That said I do expect Arsenal to finish 4th if they get Suarez. Cant see them finishing higher than that.
They were infinitely better than you lot like. & they'd piss top 4 with Suarez in their side, don't talk like a tit mate.
Message to all managers and Liverpool fans: If FSG can do it to Kenny, they can do it to anybody. What is he smoking? JW's passed the duchie from the left hand side there. Why go to Arsenal? Well gee, their stadium's paid off and they're spending again, everybody's talking about them being league contenders cos of the changes, Suarez has had a season to look at Rodgers and assess his abilities, Wenger has a CL track record and everybody knows what he's trying to build and grow, which is exactly what FSG wanted Rodgers to do - young players, low wages, TV-friendly football - only now they can attract the big buys like Suarez and Higuain, while we get knockbacks from the likes of Henrikh Mkhitaryan. Truly, football and rocket science must share common ground.
Yeah, the man who managed to get him widely regarded as one of top players in the world. If you had your way we would be spending beyond our means and in big big trouble, have you forgotten why we are in this mediocre mess at the moment? It's not because of FSG, Kenny or BR so stop pretending it's because ****ing KK got sacked.
General wake -up! There is no point in having financial resources which you don't put to good effect. As for Arsenal spending - just look back on exactly how much they have spent and on whom!! As for Wenger's CL track record - even Rafa could beat that!! In case it passed you by they didn't attract Higuain and Suarez aside, I don't see a line forming of top quality players who are desperate to pull on their jersey. You really must try harder!!
just two points. 1. no way arsenal's stadium is paid off yet.... manageable but not paid off they have 50mil a year to spend and wenger just doesn't 2. muppet is right if fsg do it to kenny they'll do whatever they want and a 4th place rival will be sold to at the right price.
Now now, even someone who has to be on the opposite side of fence as you can see that a lot of their problem was defence last season, how Suarez is meant to prevent them from conceding goals is a funny concept, care to share it?, and also I've noticed the subtle change in how you talk of Suarez. With us it was all he's this and that Tobes, now it's a team will piss 4th place with his quality. You are transparent my man
