Just seen the fee as 900k or four months of SWPs wages. Absolutely disgusting. Hope the "fan" who tried to lump him is happy.
Loved his work ethic but couldn't bare to watch him play the 'headless chicken' anymore and run blindly into the corner, only to lose the ball. Thanks Jamie, all the best.
Thats a good point. Cant have helped his mood about QPR can it. Havent been this gutted to lose a player for a long while. Not because he is the most talented, but because he gave his absolute all, and had a connection with the fans. Not many of them left now.
Hold on. He was an asset last time we were in the championship and played like he cared. Short premiership tainted memory loss by many. He will be missed.
Mackie has been unhappy for quite some time. And it has mainly been down to money. He has earned a lot less than the ones signed since promotion. He offers more and earn less, who can blame him? And this is just a guess, he has probably got his wages halved since relegation due to his contract while the likes of SWP, Barton etc. hasn't due to their contracts. Just a (qualified) guess.
Think you are spot on there Norway. A complete mess caused by the board offering silly money to awful players. Completely destroyed team spirit.
1 in 4 overall mostly from midfield and considerably better in this division isn't to be sniffed at. As for needing oodles of supposed 'quality', the grafters lay the foundation without which that fails. Taarabt was the best player in the promotion season, no doubt about it, but the graft of Mackie, Derry and others was what made it possible. Mackie also has more quality than he's given credit for when confident. His finishing has been very good when given a proper run.
No, I remember all the good games as well as the bad, I will remember his contribution to our promotion fondly but he's no Wegerley or Sir Les. If I'm totally honest I was more gutted when we said goodbye to Buz & when Rowlands wrecked his Knee yet again and also when Cookie went to Foolham.
What an overall crap day for our club. The writing was on the wall three months ago regarding Jamie. Anyone remember this thread? ........ http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/205321-Jamie-Mackie-isn-t-Happy Good luck Jamie, thanks.
Perhaps not, but SWP, Park, Bos or Barton going would have been met with almost universal delight. We should have kept him ahead of many others.
Mackie was like a......... please log in to view this image ....... that had to be given a good run and plenty of exercise - he spent too much time on the bench as an occasional sub, and should have been played in a more central forward position, instead of all this wing stuff. Right now I wish we still at Warnock at the helm - if Jamie was down in the dumps he would have just been sent over to Mrs W. for tea.
Would also like to thank Jamie for his fantastic service that he has given our club, especially in the Championship. Came up a little short in the premiership yes, but didnt they all. Not technically the greatest but a very important player for us at times, and extremely proud to wear the hoops, which you sadly cannot say about the majority of the current bunch. All the best JM
Thanks for the memories, Jamie - we're going to miss you and your heroics. No sound, but actions speak louder than words. Maybe the bit of Florist skirt was part of the deal!
