Although it's true that Carlton Cole is also a donkey. Probably not as good a chef as Carlton Palmer though.

My bad, confusing donkeys. Although I really enjoyed watching Carlton PALMER play, he knew he was crap but enjoyed every second out on the pitch

I liked Carlton's extending legs....I swear they grew when he reached for a ball.

Potters Heron. All the press called and no-one knew why and then in walked King Kev.

Oh why can't new signings be like that now?

I actually went to the training ground to interview Dave Jones back when Carlton was with us. We were all in the canteen afterwards, where I was conducting the interview - the players were having beans on toast (prior to the nutrition days!) - Carlton spent most of his time trying to speak to Jones by going "Gaffer, gaffer, gaffer" in the style of that "Alan, Alan" vid on YouTube. He really, really wasn't the brightest, bless his effort-filled socks.

As we signed Keegan in 1980, you must be a lot older than you say you are, Joe.

hence my 7 minutes. days or months post.

Was it 1980 we signed him? That would fit with any of the above

Ha, I was referring to Carlton Palmer. I was -9 when we signed Keegan.

I saw Wanyama 3 times last season in the SPL. I didn`t see anything special, to be honest. It`ll be interesting to see how he ups his game on a regular basis against better opposition.

Well, there was a chappie with some previous..! He wasn't a prospect or had potential. He'd proved it all time and time again. He was the full blown European Footballer of the Year and Lawrie had pulled off yet another masterstroke. Yeah, you could say I was excited. Like Chilco, I know exactly where I was and what I was doing. I was picking my jaw off the floor. :)

I think Qwerty is the only bloke I know who doesn't have a twinkle in his eye.

He is on his honeymoon and he has spent more time on this board than he has on the very delectable Mrs Qwerty.

I think you'd better inform the populace when you're going and when you're coming back, mate. Don't want anarchy to break out. :)

When I first saw Wanyama it was his first game against Barcelona and a work colleague who is a Celtic fan told me he had Wanyama down for 16-1 anytime goal scorer. I joked that I would stop in at the bookies on the way home (I didn't) and when he scored I had a text come through saying 'should have gone to the bookies'. I watched that game and the return leg and I thought that Wanyama was a real talent and that it must also be a matter of time before he was playing for a top four team. The commentators were also mentioning this. At the time if someone had said we even had a sniff of signing him I would have bitten their hand off. I still can't believe we have signed him and I can't wait to see him put himself about for set pieces as I feel we are currently lacking in that area. When he played against Barcelona in the first leg he constantly looked a goal threat. Unfortunately he wasn't such a threat in the second game and I had belatedly put a bet on him to score at anytime in that one!

I was at school and we were all sat around the telly in the day room watching Newsround when they announced it. I was so excited by the news but particularly because so many of the lads were so pissed off that he had signed for us- brilliant!

I also went to his first home game what a great team performance that was
