Having watched both games I would say fox was pretty average. In the earthquakes game he gave the ball away too much and last night was pretty anonymous. I wonder wether this was him being given an opportunity to really force his way into the side. If so I don't feel he's taken it. Might be a different story in training though.
Fox is not the messiah some paint him to be. It's simple, theres always a player or players on the fringe of any team and when things go wrong some people will immediately say it's that player, that has been put there often for a reason (sometimes not there own fault, heard Fox got glandular fever) is the messiah and can change everything and is deliberately being held back etc It's Cody McDonald, It's James Vaughan, It's Jacob Butterfield etc Fox fitted out previous manager very well but hasn't fitted in with this one. I'd prefer he left and found a system that was better for him because I think he's a good footballer and a top bloke.
I don't think anyone's painting Fox as the messiah, he's just the only player of that ilk that we have.
He's an alternative Beef, the others are of the same or similar type, he doesn't have to be versatile, we have plenty of others to cover the grunt work he cannot.
imo in a team of 11 though you can't afford to have someone of just his qualities, as a central midfielder you just simply have to be more versatile in the premier league, you can get away with it in league one and the championship. The very best of these types of players are insane and really make a team (Carrick) they unfortunately cost top dollar as well. IMO the others are just simply offering more versatility and that's why they are getting more game time.
You guys should really check out the QPR fans on twitter, talk about bitter and twisted. Stereotypical insults abound they are really making complete and utter fools of themselves
BREAKING: Gary Hooper has passed a medical at Norwich ahead of his move from Celtic. (Source: Sky Sports)"
I've seen it, it truly is beautiful! I don't know if it's ever become apparent but I can't stand QPR as an entity from the very top to the very bottom I despise what they are doing as a club and I'm glad that model is failing and ours and Swanseas is proving to be a success it's the greatest Karma.
Versatility is not solely a Premiership attribute Beef that concerns itself with physical aspects. It is that attitude which has left the England team in its present predicament.
I remember when the season ended, we asked for quality more than quantity. Well. seems to be that were getting both
I'd say Carrick is an excellent versatile central midfielder and his contribution is massive to Manchester united and has won them titles. He's also English. The problem with England isn't as much with the players but with the people that run it. Trust me, you think i'm this happy at anything football fan we should talk about England some time, don't get me started, what a **** house. In short it's about who offers more to the 11 in attributes.
As passing is at the very heart to the game of football I'd say its' one that should take priority to warrant a player being deemed versatile. The people who run it have exactly the same attitude as yourself Beef.
No, we've had versatile and good players for England, would you say Gerrard is a crap passer? Lampard? Scholes? All excellent central midfielders that were and are excellent passers all screwed over largely by englands setup. The grass roots are **** I'll grant you that but that's the FA's fault as well, our teaching of young players is atrocious. Anyway, I don't want to talk about that, seriously, I'll be here all night. The FA are a joke in short.
Just seen on SSN that GH has passed his medical and is going to sign a 4 year contract!!! -http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11709/8840784/transfer-news-celtic-striker-gary-hooper-passes-medical-at-norwich
