"English football" would certainly suggest there is more than one club in England bidding, wouldn't be surprised if it was us, not that he'd ever choose us.
ok fair enough. reasons: 1. arsenal are what 3rd choice for him? 2. Arsenal offer about 20-30k more wages max. 3. Arsenal don't offer medals they offer groups stage CL window. 4. Arsenal = 5 year contract with as big if not bigger tie in that where he is. 5. LFC don't offer medals, cl but they do have a contract running down and a change next year to move. 6. He said clearly it was the english media. Anything else therefore is supposedly irrelevant. 7. Arsneal do not offer any more means than LFC to resolve the media, wengers been just as bad with media over as long a time. However.............. Is the madrid thing tapping up or is it a press guy asked about madrid then he said they are a great club. he's not directly said mardids tapped him up though.... who knows. I think there's a choice point for him sometime in mid august... I think he'll line up what he can with arsenal then nothing will happen until he jumps... he'll either hand in a transfer request or arsenal will offer ridiculous money. somebody's going to give in in the giant staring competition. LFC, suarez or Arsenal.. to my mind this is entirely down to if the argument compelling enough to make this move in the absence of the Spanish move he wants. He really wants the foreign move but eventually he will have a decision to make. thats my view. I cannot see this being resolved in july.
Would he be direct competition with Coutinho? Both play pretty similar roles really although Coutinho can move around a bit more I feel.
I would say Bernard is a lot more comfortable out on the wing than Coutinho, and he definitely has more pace.
We shall see, the same thought with Eriksen is that someone will have to move wide OR are we maybe moving to a two AM system ( which I love btw).
From the very little I've seen of him I'd say Bernard is suited to the wing, very similar to Coutinho in a sense that both can either play No.10 or on the wing.
I'm sorry, but no. You are very wide of the mark. Arsenals strict low wage structure is greatly publicised and at about 90k max. We offer schmucka like Carroll that. I have no issues with guessing that we pay more than arsenal. Players like Gerrard are on big money that arsenal won't pay.
I thought this was another thing for some of the older players from Arsenal leaving in the past? Van Persie, Cole, Viera, etc once they got to a certain age ( other than cole) didn't they move on for more money?
At the end of last season we put Coutinho and Henderson in the front 4 with nice results. From the team from the last 4 games I think we could get away with only changing the RF player if form continues from how it was and depth improves.
and a lot of interchange I remember as well. Hendo I think started in the middle but would sometimes drift wide and the opposite for Coutinho.
I "heard" arsneal were offering 150k per week. I do not know where i heard that honestly but thats what i based that one off of. I didn't hear 200k here so i thought 150k was not totaly out of whack to henry or fabregas. i thought suarez was on something around 120k per week. Thats where i got the 30k more form.... who knows i guess.
Arsenals wage total is much bigger than ours, the numbers are scary when you look at how much of our turnover goes to wages! http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/blogs/the-rundown/club-paying-wages-160415004.html
I'm sure it was a lot higher before FSG came in - they've gotten rid of Kuyt, Maxi, Aqua, Cole, Reina, Carra (retire) etc. We've slashed our wage bill considerably and we're on the right path. In addition, our revenue streams are increasing despite a lack of CL football.
right path really depends on what you mean by that. A realistic view here is having sustainable wages is good but you'd better GET ON WITH CL QUALIFICATION if you want to keep top players cos clubs will come in offering higher wages. this is why I do not buy the slow assembly of a team concept as arsenal have done that and look at them... they sell all their better players cos they want to go win stuff. To build a winning team you simply have to assemble it fast enough so that attrition on the other end doesn't kill your project. Dortmund are an ideal model of how to do this BUT dortmund have to accept that until bayern hunger drops they simply will be picking up the crumbs. Arsenal wit this move could be signalling the end to wengers influence and reign frankly.
They gave Walcott £100k per week http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/21078962 If they choose to they can afford to pay him £150k+, they made another massive profit last year & it seems they've decided it's time to turn the profit into pots.
I dunno.... they could be but the profit aint that vast, tis all transfer spend v no spend. stadium and revenue is good but not that good. they can't pay utd wages Really with all the revenues the question is more yes suarez at 50mil = 150k per week... no walcott you can f off for that money. i think they have more sense than city etc... however suarez would be expected to lead, and be shining for that so a 10 match ban would not go down well!!!
Oh and int he end 150k- its still only 30k more so would suarez tie himself to them for potentially an 70mil fee ask when real do turn up... that in my view is his decision point. I think even with him LFC are short of 4th. so he should only be thinking about waiting for who he really wants or just go for this.
