<applause> for the linvoy primus comment - made me chuckle!

i'm obviously loathed to say anything until we see the guy holding up a city shirt but FINALLY it seems our patience is about to pay off. this is a move that the club have put serious work into and imo have played a slightly risky strategy in recent weeks, but if he does sign then fair play to mcnally and hughton. he's a very good player and will be a great asset in future years <ok>

BBC and Sky Sports both reporting that Norwich have agreed a fee and medical today...comedy! I REALLY want to see Harry's face right now, what a muppet! RvW, Hooper, Becchio and Josh Murphy. IMO, we will be fine till January at least, but I would still like us to cover the 4th slot with Lucas Piazon, who is available on loan from Chelsea...

Next up on the shopping list should be an AM or a CB

I actual don't think this is true, I believe only McNally can sign the paperwork with how the club is now set up. I might be wrong but I am sure I read it in an article that all football matters are conducted by McNally and McNally only.

Hooper's a great player and you'll be lucky to get him. He's a poacher but not afraid to dig in defensively when needed.

Re Celtic wanting as much as they can for him - he's in his last year of his contract, of course they want as much as they can get for him. Lennon wanted Hooper to stay, give him what he was looking for but Peter Lawwell wouldn't sanction a wage rise for him. It's how he rolls.

Hes gorgeous too and I for one will be gutted when he leaves.

:(
Sorry was not meaning to make Celtic look bad, of course they want as much as possible, dont blame them! Its just that some fans views on twitter and forums are making it sound like it is Hooper that has been holding things up, while to me it looks much more like he just wanted to play in the Prem, not with a money obsessed Championship club.

Hope you get that done because it is an excellent signing particularly at £5m. If he went to the Championship it would have been a travesty. But I would wait until him and Delia are holding the scarf up before I get too excited  <ok>

Is that not what Fax machines and 'digital signatures' are for?

No reason if he passes his medical he cant get paperwork sorted all pending a bit of a face to face in a few days time.

No, you're fine, I wasn't really disagreeing with anything you were saying, just kinda putting my side across.

The pull for him with QPR was London. It's his neck of the woods. If they had got him, he'd only have stayed a season, I think, then a premiership team would have come in for him.

He really is a smashing wee player. We love him up here.

The first number 88 in our club's history.

There is no way that McNally will be the only one who can sign, but even if he was he could still sign a document authorising someone else to sign on his behalf.

I've no doubt that all footballing matters are conducted by McNally ultimately, but he can still do that over the phone - he doesn't need to be in the room to have the final say (though he may well prefer to be).

All well and good but what if 'Arry' ups his bid!, this saga might not be over yet.

Fortunately that's now irrelevant - we've had our bid accepted! It's now simply a question of whether he'll want to play in the championship on, potentially, a lot more money, or in the prem

Why 88?

agree about lucas piazon. i mentioned him as a loan possibility about 20 pages back but wasn't aware at the time he would be available. he's a talent but a bit lightweight at the moment. would be worth the gamble imo <ok>

Apparently Stiliyan Petrov has been advising him not to go to the Championship as he believes it would be too big a step down after he's played in the CL. So thanks Stiliyan!

It's true though. I know you all think our league is a diddy one, but he's assured medals up here, and a run in the CL. What in the **** has he to gain in the championship?

I believe it was more to do with him wanting to 'go home', the QPR thing.
