How come they now say Roma want €8m for Osvaldo but last week said we had bid of €17m accepted? I know we like to pay a bit exta but something doesn't add up.

Think the €8m fee was linked with Arsenal's rumoured Gervinho+cash deal, Roma want Gervinho so likely to accept.

What about looking at the Chelsea loan options, josh mceachren and Lucas piazon, midfielder and striker respectfully. Think josh has been on loan with the Boro last season.

 

I still can't believe we have not snapped up Hooper for a snip of a fee and let him go to QPR especially as we spent the best part of two transfer windows trying to get him.

Yeah somehow I doubt everyone involved in our transfer operations - and everyone from the other 19 Premier League clubs - accidentally failed to notice him going to a non Prem club. Maybe there's a reason for that other than "****in' foreigners"?

 

He missed his chance with us...though we will never know how much of the rumours about us trying to sign him is true. The media have a habit of resurrecting old stories as if they are new. Celtic fans scoffed that he would leave to come to a small PL club (their words), so I wonder how they feel about him leaving for a Championship club. We are now looking at better players, so there was very little chance of us going back in for him.

 

We're now looking for better quality than Hooper. Adkins wanted Hooper, Pochettino doesn't. Says it all really.

With City bringing in Joevitic and Negredo would it not be an idea to try someone like Dzeko? He's screaming out for first team and would say that he would be a perfect target man if we were to keep the 4-2-3-1 formation

At the end of the day we should be considered a fantastic opportunity for a striker who wants to score goals and progress. Our style of play and the chances we create should mean that a top marksman will score for fun.

Have I mentioned I'd like Guidetti?

 

I don't know if I imagined this, or got him confused with someone else, but isn't there something up with Guidetti? An illness seems to ring a bell?

Good lord. Mate, give up on that dream now. I know we've been linked with some big players in this window, but Edin Dzeko is about a thousand steps too far.

 

He had something ridiculous, but he's all better now. Great footballer too, and seems intelligent to boot.
