Agreed, but this will give Harry an excuse to exit "club didn't back me blah, blah, f***ing blah" Very depressed now.
Just saw this comment on the Norwich board which says a lot really "I know this may be irrelevant but what is the general opinion of Hooper? Do we want him? from what I have seen I think he could be good, but not seen much of him."
They will tell us they will not be paying a pound over 20k; they won't break the club pay limit...... yeah right
that was our wage limit from a while ago, i think its closer to 40k now. The added sky money and lack of debt has let us increase it a fair bit, whilst still keeping it under control.
i think my heart just broke. this was really the only good thing that has happened since last season. we even ****ed up bring back big hoops by no one getting them before the start of the season again.
QUOTE Norwich have agreed a fee with Celtic for Gary Hooper and the striker will have a medical today, Sky sources understand. Hooper looked set for a move to Championship side QPR, with the Hoops understood to have agreed a fee in the region of £5m for the 25-year-old on Wednesday. But Norwich have been in the hunt for Hooper for some time, with manager Chris Hughton seeing bid rejected in the January transfer window, while Hull also missed out with their approach in June. Hughton may yet get his man though and former Southend and Scunthorpe forward Hooper could be playing in the Premier League come the start of the new season.UNQUOTE
QUOTE Hughton set to win striker race Norwich City, Last updated: 7 minutes ago Norwich are understood to have agreed a fee with Celtic for Gary Hooper, with the striker now set to join the Canaries and not QPR. Hughton set to win striker race Essex-born Hooper looked to be on his way to Loftus Road, after Harry Redknapp had an offer accepted by the SPL champions on Wednesday. Norwich and Hull both had offers for the 25-year-old turned down earlier this year, but Chris Hughton has returned with another improved bid and the Canaries are now in the driving seat to complete the deal. Hooper has indicated that he would be keen on a return south of the border and the prospect of playing in the top flight has given Norwich the edge over recently relegated QPR. Hooper has scored 82 goals in three years at Celtic Park, but has resisted attempts to extend his contract beyond next summer and Celtic manager Neil Lennon admitted earlier this week that he thought the forward's mind may be elsewhere. The former Southend and Scunthorpe man is expected at Carrow Road on Thursday afternoon to undergo a medical and discuss personal terms.UNQUOTE
Marvellous, almost the same time as the opening hours of the bottle-shop. Today's visit will be purely for medicinal purposes.
No real surprise chaps, Prem football over Championship?? No contest. Always thought Austin may be our better bet.
This could be very good indeed. I wish it wasn't Norwich, but clearly this lad needs a crack at the Prem, he would never have been satisfied with us, and would never start if Remy continues to be available. Even better, may push Harold into a hissy fit and resignation "if I can't get the players I want, what's the point, the board doesn't support me etc etc". Contrast with last year, The policy was no comment until a signing was made. This year with rent a quote in charge no hope of maintaining any dignity when losing out on players.
