We have all made mistakes and for our part four individuals stick out; Winston Bogarde, Chris Sutton, Robert Fleck & Veron. The lower class of London Clubs like the Spuds have excelled in previous years with ****wits like; Jesus Christ, where do we start? Justin Edinburgh (imo the worst player I have ever seen play for Spurs) Rebrov Cundy Jenas Bentley Adebayor Gilberto Chimbonda Vega Postiga Khumalo Toda Rasiak Bunjevcevic Booth Gardner Atouba Ghaly Brown Dozzell Bemnt Sinton Tarricco Doherty Thatcher As I said earlier we have all made mistakes but that ****ing lot take the biscuit.
In terms of value for money and wages, it has to be £PR. The most expensively assembled squad to go do in football history. Guess Chelsea have bought some clangers too over the years, but it worth bearing in mind, Roman snagged five trophies in his first four years as owner; I think City took four years to win the Prem so they must have bought some poor players too, The Spuds have bought some ****e over the years and they complain that it is not their fault they can't compete!
Got to agree with Edinburgh, woeful player. Bentley up there too in terms of money. I'd go with QPR though, it's comical what they've done over the past few years.
Bentley was a great signing for the Spuds, they paid us £5m in sell on fees for the biggest Turkey ever
When you tot up the amount of money Spuds have spent on Transfers it is alarming how much they have underachieved. Since the PL began they have spent a whopping £490,550,000, only a fraction behind Man Utd and yet in that time they have only qualified for the CL once. The spuds like to hark on about how they sold some of their turkeys on and recouped their money, but this is also misleading. Their net spend is £184.5m - that's another whopping £128m more NET spend than Arsenal who have won the double twice, the FA cup four times and qualified for the CL every season since Wenger joined. The Spuds really have no shame when it comes to wasting money and yet the Spiv Levy is touted as some kind of miracle business man. If he'd pissed that much of my money up the wall, I'd be livid
started at maidenhead,wo promotion,done the same with Newport,so i think his star is rising,that's how a lot of top managers start,Malcolm Allison,Jimmy Hill,Ron Atkinson.to name a few.
I know, but I'd call people like AVB or Wenger 'top' managers. AVB is 35 and already managed Porto, Chelsea and Spurs.
And i thought Chelsea fan's did'nt rate AVB,some even call him tea-boy,good to know some of you have a knowledge of football
I didn't like some of his methods here and think he tried to change it all a bit too quickly in an 'I'm the boss and you do whatever I say' kind of way, despite only being a scout here with the same players a few years back (hence the tea boy reference), but I didn't want him sacked if I'm honest. A lot of Chelsea fans don't like him because of the comments he made after leaving. He's a very good manager it's just a shame he had to use Chelsea as a learning curve.
He's been good for us so far,a step up from Harry,I liked harry, but he was never going to get us that step Futher
Interesting view that given Harry took you to top 4 twice, an fa cup semi and C.L QTR and under AVB you dropped to 5th and had pretty poor cup runs - despite an awful start from Arsenal in the league and Chelsea in disarray mid season. Could be argued you've gone backwards under AVB, especially factoring in Bale had by far his best season for you last year.
Levy has been our chairman since may 2001 so is not responsible for what went on before. As for you being livid if your club wasted so much money...you have out spent spurs on wages by approx EVERY £50m per season .... that's £400m more than us in wages since 2005 and in return you have won exactly zero trophies...yet you show no signs of being livid with your club...on top of that you lost £15.5m on Asharvin (your version of Bentley) and paid a fortune per week to Chamkh;Bendtner; Gerviniho etc... so I suspect you are being a drama tart again
Levy has taken Spurs from a mid-table club to the top four while spending more than £50m per season less than any of the other top four contenders. Of course I'm livid!
