I agree, the fact he hasn't signed for koo pee arr a fortnight after they had a bid accepted means it's almost certain he'll be our player. Another name to chuck in the frame, Lucas Piazon has just been on SSN saying he's looking for a loan to a PL team this season. Could he do a job in the hole behind RVW?
The BBC report of a City bid must have been on TV or radio, as I can't find anything on-line either. But why would QPR bid again when they've already had a bid accepted? As for Piazon, he could be a shout for the 4th striker/AM role. Scoring record not great though, but better on assists.
Seriously how many times do people need to be told. He can't tell his agent to take a hike and force a move to CR as we haven't had a bid accepted!!!!
I think this was meant more in the sense of allowing us to bid more because we agree to pay him less (in effect him subsidising his own transfer, a la Fabregas). The assumption being that the agent will be pushing for higher wages, whereas hopefully Hooper's priority is engineering a move to a Premier Lague team.
Sorry but that's a ludicrous suggestion. A player like fabregas fair enough as he will be earning 100k a week or so but hooper you're looking 10-25k tops. In a ten or so year career not really in a position to give up half his wages.
love this celtic fans view of it all 'Nuts, Drop down from beating Barca in the Champions league to playing in the Championship. What is he thinking about and a £5m transfer fee, means he is getting very little for the switch, if he could have another good season in the Champions league he might get another champions league side coming in for a lot more money both personally and as a share of the transfer fee. Clearly no ambition.' i hope for his sake they have another good champions league campaign!
There's someone from the Celtic board on a qpr thread saying we bid 5.5mil for Hooper and Forster today
It doesn't necessarily need to be half his wages. A drop of £2.5k a week over a four year contract is worth £500k, which sounds like close to the amount we are short. £30kpw vs. £27.5kpw doesn't sound too dreadful to me for the sake of premier league football. I'm not saying it will happen, nor that it should, but it has happened and therefore it's plausible that Hooper could do the same if he really wanted premier league, but we wouldn't budge on our offer. I wonder whether in reality he would rather take the fat wedge QPR offer though. Most likely scenario, as Carrabuh says, is that we end up coughing up in any event. Annoying if he turns out crap.
Something really odd going on. We might end up with both given Higuain's move! I'd love to get an in-depth behind the scenes account of this saga in the future... I think there have been some real games going on. Unfortunately I don't think we'll ever find out anything other than the result.
I know that odds change for pretty much no money but I've never seen odds for a transfer swing like this. Every hour is different. Most perculiar
last 20 minutes somethings happened, odds dropped very quickly and QPR drifted very far out. Doesnt look like risk balancing, more like someone knows something.
Every ten minutes! It was apparently us at 1/4 (I didn't see that) 40 mins ago, I saw us at 1/2, then 2/1, now this!
You'd think that Harry coming out and acknowledging the bid etc would at least level the market a tad. Fluctuations are a bit weird but it's very fitting of a very weird transfer.
http://www.oddschecker.com/football...mer-transfer-window/bet-history/norwich/today the last hour has been pretty clear in its direction.
