I think he may have lost his head as a result of the club wanting him to look more friendly for children - , because I understand he visits hospitals, schools etc. No idea about the first question though.

Am I the only one left guessing here ? I think he has been the mascot for about 15 years. Was his previous head too scary for children ? I know there was some dispute between him and the club about 5 years ago. Am I getting anywhere close ?

Think I will have to say as you are getting close. 1995 he first appeared. The original Harry was more scary and the club wanted him to be more friendly. The person inside the outfit was asked to return it but was not happy, so returned the costume but without the head.

Your turn, but the brains seem to be missing at the present.

In answer to the question 'why did the chicken cross the road'? a selection of possible answers have been put together as to how famous people (Living or dead), and in some cases literary could have answered this. Who were the following answers assigned to. (8 out of 10 will do).

    1. This chicken's not for turning !
    2. How many roads must one chicken cross ?
    3. It was the logical next step after coming down from the trees.
    4. To die. In the rain.
    5. So that its subjects will view it with admiration, as a chicken which has the daring and courage to boldly cross the road, but also with fear, for whom among them has the strength to contend with such a paragon of avian virtue ? In such a manner is the princely chicken's dominion maintained.
    6. It was a historical inevitability.
    7. The confluence of events in the cultural gestalt necessitated that individual chickens cross roads at this historical juncture, and therefore synchronicitously brought such occurrences into being.
    8. That is not the question.
    9. Whether the chicken crossed the road or the road crossed the chicken depends upon your frame of reference.
    10. So priketh hem nature in hir corages.

Darwin was right, Hemingway and Einstein as well - which brings us over the 8 required so over to you NZ (if you're awake). The one missing was for Machiavelli.

Ah! Should have got Machiavelli. The Prince is required reading where I work so we can understand the actions of senior management.

Next question- a fairly easy one for the googliterate.

What is the link between Churchill and polar bears?

Similar size & equally gruff and noisy?
Both as cuddly as each other?
    Both smoke cigars?

Or is Churchill the best place in the world for polar bear watching?
