It's good to see it back, what's going to make way for it though? Red Bull have said it's going to be 6th of July, but Silverstone are expecting the British GP to be that date. Monaco will be 25th of May, so Canada will be 8th of June, New Jersey the 15th so presumably they'll bring Silverstone forward to the 29th. That means there's 21 races currently contracted for next year (Suzuka hasn't been confirmed yet, Austria, New Jersey and Russia have been added). I'm guessing Japan won't get a race next year , hopefully Korea's the other one to get dropped and not somewhere like Spa.
My guess is one of Japan or Korea going like you said. It makes sense for another race in summer to be put in at the expense of one in autumn. Let's be honest the scheduling for this year has been a joke through the middle of summer when there is no football to compete with there is 1 race in 7 weeks. Having Austria will help even out the calendar.
Good news! I'm afraid I can't access the whole article on Autosport as I have exceeded my free views for the month.
Christ I remember them mentioning he was working with some pop producer. I'm dreading the inevitable album
I bet it would be amazing. 12 ballads about Nicole, and a hidden screamo track about how Vettel's had the best car for the last four years.
Just so people know, It's H&M for both Spa and Monza, M&SS for Singapore. Very poor choices yet again by Pirelli, the Hards are the broken tyre. Eau Rouge failures could cost a life
True but with the vertical loadings going through the tire at Eau Rouge the alternative is that softs will last about five minutes.
I thought we'd switched to the 2012 tyres (i.e. tyres that work) now, which would make the hard tyre issues irrelevant?
There is a slight complication, Tom. Yes, the 2012 profile and construction will be used from this weekend (Hungaroring) onwards; but with 2013 compounds! Therefore they are not the same as last year's tyres. This novel combination was tested (successfully) during the Friday practice sessions at Canada last month. My reasons for not sharing the sense of impending doom expressed by some above (for Eau Rouge etc.) is that the low pressures, steep cambers and tyre reversal some teams were previously running are now being properly regulated and monitored. Some teams were well outside Pirelli's recommendations: in particular, Red Bull appeared to be so extreme (at Silverstone for instance) that their tyres looked to have been borrowed from dragsters! http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/'wadding'
Bernie has said the most likely track to be dropped from next year's calendar is India. Not really a great loss, India's not been a particularly exciting track, although I did at least appreciate their efforts to push motorsport in their country. Certainly we had more reason to be in India (Force India) than some of the other tracks that might stay on the calendar. EDIT: I also realised last night that F1 will be returning to Austria in the year that marks the 20th anniversary of Roland Ratzenberger's death. I suddenly feel very bad for being so cynical about its return.
