Look at the business that we are doing this summer:- Giaccherini 6.5 million, Italian international (and goalscorer), played in the champion league can play on the wing or the centre of midlfield (and probably upfront as well), hardly any injuries wages 33k ...... and Huddlestone for 5 and wages of 40k+? Peruzzi eventually (barring his little knock) for 3.3 million, 21 years old current Argentina right back..... and Rose? The current team at the SOL are showing that there are bargains to be had on less wages then current Premiership players. I believe that the days are gone where we are buying other teams cast offs and bench warmers for inflated prices and paying inflated wages.
Regardless - I'd still pay £10m for Rose - I know how good he is and also that he is capable of playing at the highest level in this country - playing in the champions league means nothing - what if he played crap in every game (I'm not saying he did) - the EPL is one of the most competitive in the world (if not the most competitive) I think the players mentioned will be fine but I don't know 100% as I haven't seen them play - I have watched Danny Rose become a very good footballer who is capable of playing LB, LM or CM and he would be worth every penny of £10m for me
I honestly hope that if we take any other kid on loan that we negotiate a fee to buy before we take them. We have turned Rose into a 6-10 million player and will now have to pay for that honour.
No arguments at all! I hate the loan without the view to buy and personally I don't see any good in it for our club. We'd be better going elsewhere! But I truly would like to sign Danny Rose
We sent Elmo to Hull on loan and they say he got better and we lost a million on him. Ok, they did pay his wage for a year so we really didn't lose out but surely his value should have risen? I'd love to have had most of the loanees that we've had from the past few years especially Welbeck and Evans but hope that the current setup either don't go down the loanee route (unless we have no other option) or tie up a pre-contract with an option to buy at a reasonable price. I hope that if we do loan out players that we look to better options the Sheff Weds. I can't see why we can't loan the kids to clubs nearby Hartlepool, Darlington, Leeds (at a push) and Boro (who have an excellent youth setup) thus getting them used to the area and getting valuable playing time. I'd love to get Wickham on loan to Boro as I think that with Whitehead and Leadbitter that they could be knocking around the play offs next season.
he's pulling the strings today. Could he be Paolo's player with 'the keys to the house'? We've been locked out of the house for ****ing years
He looked poor but the pitch was awful and its still pre-season, personally I think we can get better and with Di Fanti's posse we should be able to identify more targets.
not sure he could handle the PDC fitness regime...he is already prone to injury, and he seems to have piled the beef on as of late...not a wise signing in my opinion. We need to sort out the FB positions before anything else :-/
