No, its a fact proven by us finishing bottom and only just staying up in the previous season. I'd bet we are in the bottom five in points gained in the last two seasons as well, probably bottom in fact Only teams with successive relegation did worse than us which brings me back to the point, why sign someone who's an awful player in an awful team.
This is tough league and if Henry provides some bite, and is a leader on the pitch then that will be welcome. That has been missing, big time. The jury is out, he wouldn't have been most peoples choice but I'll give him a chance before writing him off.
Have to say, initially I thought 'oh no, please not him' after the Barton row etc.. But after listening to him speak on QPR player I think he could turn out to be a good signing. Not the most talented player, but we thought we had that last season and look what happened. Time and time again last season opposition players strolled through our midfield with ease and took shots without being tackled. Henry wont let this happen imo, and will get into peoples faces. Thats exactly what Hill and Derry did in our promotion season. So perhaps Henry can be a younger Derry type player for us. As I said, he spoke well on QPR player, and does seem genuine in him wanting to play for us. And if what I am hearing regarding the deal is (performance based) then even better. Personally, when Derry and Hill signed I slated the signings and thought it was awful. Now I will reserve judgement until I have seen them play. We cant have a team full of pretty players who like to pass the ball. That hasn't got us anywhere.
Might this mean that Derry will be transfer listed? We're still heavy in centre midfield and Derry and Henry appear to play a very similar role.
