It would be daft to say anything right now though. Until he's bedded in to a new team and played some competitive games, the only way to do that would be to go back to his Lyon performances.
Tends to happen when you've got Adam Lallana fannying like **** with the ball every time he gets it. So frustrating.
The only assessment we can fairly happily make from the last 85 minutes is that the cameraman is a heterosexual male with an eye for the younger lady.
This is a friendly...do you think Mauricio would pick this team or make those substitutions in a league game.
I bet the Germans have a word for 'sense that disaster is pending and an entire summer of hope has been for naught brought on by a pre-season loss to a Champions League side'.
No point judging the team's performance, but you can look at individuals. Only Puncheon, Wanyama & Shaw put in acceptable performances
That game was like most of last season in microcosm: lots of possession with some nice play but no real goal threat, conceded sloppy goals. Still, early days and all that...
Lallana, Lambert and Rodriguez need to get a lot more playing time this pre-season, because they're not ready yet. Isgrove and Chambers showed promise.
**** we lost! We are going to get relegated, that's all cut pur wrists and stop the pain before it gets even worse.
thought the montage of hot women and young girls finishing with a random boy was amusing. We were abject offensively, although cork and schneiderlin looked like they have lost none of their intercepting ability. We don't attack as a team well at all, the only time we looked dangerous was from cutbacks, there was nothing happening otherwise. Wasn't at all a promising performance clearly we have got some very good players though we just need to get them playing well together and we will score goals.
Lallana didn't have a great season last year, and I just don't think he'll be someone that can help us push up the league. Too much show-ponying and not enough cutting edge. Chambers looked good. Shaw looked good. Lovren looked good. Wanyama looked good. Puncheon looked good. Still think we need something else up top. Lambert certainly won't be able to carry us next season. A striker and a versatile attacking player needed. Not so sure we're that desperate for fullback cover anymore having seen Chambers - oh, and Fox really isn't as bad as some make out. Perfectly acceptable back-up IMO. So yeah, decent enough performance against a Schalke side further ahead in their pre-season than us.
