Not much to tell really - apparently he'd played in Milan the day before and had a couple of days off before flying back to Madrid so decided on a mini-break in Venice. It was my wife who actually spotted him first - she's not a big football fan but said "isn't that bloke a footballer?" We were in a quiet little restaurant in the Castello district, not far from the Bienalle Gardens and he was at a neighbouring table with his girlfriend and another, older, man. We didn't actually speak to him but he was chatting very happily with a family of tourists and a couple of young lads.
Young Bournemouth fan had whist broken from a Ronaldo shot! Real presented him with a signed shirt, good on them.
