It is a good read although I'm not sure about the Ajax comments. I don't recall him kicking up a fuss to.leave there, I do remember Ajax cashing in after he bit someone though. Feel free to see the farewell Luis received from the Ajax fans too. He won't get that from Liverpool now.

I'll believe he is signing for Arsenal when he signs for Arsenal, I think John Henry's tweet is relevant, he has the last say no matter what some Arsenal fans think.

And if Arsenal don't sign him queue the "oh we really didn't want the this and that so and so" by Arsenal fans

Hopefully the next step is that we offer Suarez good terms and turn his head enough for him to kick up a fuss about the Transfer. We then come in with another £40mil bid with up to £5mil of addons and Suarez agreeing to waver his loyalty bonus. This would give the transfer a possible value of somewhere up to £50mil for Liverpool with us only paying out an initial £40mil. I think something along these sort of lines is the type of deal we will go for and i think Liverpool are likely to accept a deal along those lines to avoid an unhappy suarez staying at the club and going for less next season.

Then we just need to bring in some extra midfield depth, possibly a LWF, maybe CB depending on whether Miquel will be making the step up to the first team or not and a back-up GK IF Flappy goes.

Suarez plus another 1-2 quality signings and we could have a very exciting season ahead.

 

Good luck getting any footballer to waive £5m

 

The way i understand it the loyalty fee is paid in segments each year until your contract runs out - so to get all of his loyalty bonus he would need to stay at Liverpool for another 4 years. If the club choose to sell him without him handing in a transfer request then he gets paid the rest of this by Liverpool but if he hands in a request he doesnt get it. So if he realises Liverpool are unlikely to sell him unless he gives up on that cash he may go for it - especially if we are offering good enough terms on his contract.

 

He would be silly not to considering the big wage increase he will get for joining Arsenal.

You won't get him for £40m + £5m in add ons either. There are very few quotes about from player or club but the one thing that has been mentioned (by BR) is Cavani going to PSG for £55m and Suarez being better!

PS...the beeb reports changed now too. It still says Arsenal and Luis can talk but it also says Liverpool won't sell for less than £50m.

 

Explains why he hasn't so far. Wants to do the dirty on Liverpool (no sleight on Arsenal btw) and get a loyalty bonus. They're a rum breed (footballers, not Uruguyans)

 

My point was that i think a deal can be reached where both sides are happy with the financial side of it - whether Liverpool are happy about him leaving or not is another discussion! But i dont think we will be paying an outright £50mil even if the worth to Liverpool on the transfer is somewhere near that.

I also think because Suarez is a big name he would probably generate quite a lot of attention and shirt sales which im sure Arsenal have in mind when looking to pay such a high fee.

 

Thats £50m including a transfer request IMO

I think all the hate was coming from the spuds & that is only because they are **** scared of you lot overhauling them
