Agreed ... Cliftinville woulddo well in the SPL... someof the SPL teams may sniff around your players, such as Gormley, Caldwell and Boyce...
It was good to be back even if it was the shortest close season ever. The new announcer is too noisy and a bit too Pat Sharp for my liking - he could do with a bifta before hitting out wi his commercial radio voice. The guy playing up front on his own for Cliftonville put some shift in. I'm not taken with big Balde yet, he has a bit of a clumsy gait about him - ****'s massive, right enough.
We started trying to play football a few years ago as Linfield where cleaning up due to their yearly handout from the IFA. It has payed off although we are a lot better than we showed against Celtic. A few rabbits caught in the headlights most of all wee Joe Gormley in the first leg. Say la ve.
Hibs have been after Boycie since he came back from Bremen. Best player in the league by a country mile but likes a swally and a scrap. Black eye every other week. Thats why he failed in Germany by all accounts, German beers lovely Joe Gormley is a homer, dont think he has left Ardoyne outwith the football. His Da died youngish last year.
it sounded **** on the radio tbh, well, Celtic did after the first goal went in. How good can Cliftonville be if they can't beat Celtic when they're playing ****?
Well indeed. Celtic strolled the match without having to get out of first gear. First half, Cliftonville didn't string two passes together. Second half, they had a bit more possession but threatened only once to my recollection. Celtic looked disinterested in the second half but still should've scored at least 3 more (free headers from Balde, Ambrose and a sitter from Stokes). I'd say a part-time team like Cliftonville would compete well with diddy scottish teams like Rangers but would struggle in the SPL.
