Just so long as you don't think it is somehow anti merican Also, I did say I see nothing wrong with faith Bluff. welcome back
Nowt wrong with this thread and it was good for me 'cos I could prove to myself that I didn't get wound-up! But it's a debate that has no solution. Whereas Suarez is a mongrel but he's our mongrel!!! Good to be back
Debates aren't about solutions. What are you trying to solve? Debates are about airing views and having an open mind to different viewpoints while expressing your own as best as you can. Welcome back Dave
I don't know. When I'm involved in debate I look to arrive at a point where both parties are suited and in agreement = solution of sorts.
For me, debates help shape my opinion. I start out with my view then depending on what other people say, I will still hold my view [maybe even stronger] or modify or change it. It depends on the subject matter of course. But you don't always find there's a solution as such. Agreeing to disagree is a solution but that usually means the debate didn't further the cause of either side. Is stale-mate a solution?
It's the nature of that particular debate that is the problem. For me faith kicks-in when logic runs out. Therefore there is little or no base fact upon which to base the argument. Hence you end up with 2 sides shouting from different mountain tops. But today is a day for standing on our LFC mountain top and laughing at Arsenal
This particular subject has two distinct, mostly closed minded, sides before you even start. Like all/most moral issues it's the loudest voices who think they are right. I actually don't mind Arsenal but I don't want us selling Suarez to them for any amount and if he has any sense [does he??] he won't go to another PL side.
Would that be another 'moral' issue - everything says don't sell to a direct rival, but you can't resist the money!
