I firmly believe Sunderland will either be brilliant ie top 8 or get relegated. I think either way they'll have a barnstorming start and be top 4 after the first month. Then is the time to back them to go down.

Interesting to note but no real surprise is that away from the 3 promoted clubs Norwich City and Stoke City are favs to get relegated.

    This.

I think that it will be the former though - and that next season we may see an implosion worthy of Di Canio which could see relegation.

I agree both have too much baggage to carry them through the season without avoiding the drop. I've a soft spot for Newcastle from my days at college in the 80s but they need to sort out their internal conflicts to avoid the trap door. As for Sunderland De Canio is a burden they do not need.

I expect Norwich to comfortably stay up. Also if Sunderland play anything like today they'll also have a good season.

I see Stoke, Fulham, Cardiff, Palace, Us and potentially Newcastle battling for survival.

Don't waste your money on us going down lads. We're a different fish from last season. Take a look at how fit they look.

We tore spurs to shreds today on fitness. If you want to put a sunderland bet on my tip is for us to score the most goals in the last 10 minutes over the course of the season.

Most sunderland fans were sceptical at the changes at first but as time ticks by we've got more and more confident. After so many none starts and seasons of gloom we ain't the type to get carried away. Thats the barcodes job. I've got us for a mid table finish this season then the skys the limit. We won't go down. Hopefully you guys stay up too. Hope Elmo does well, never thought he got a chance with us. <ok>

I certainly think you won't go down (look at the predictions thread, I placed you 10th), but you can never be so certain until the season starts.

I think We could struggle first half of the season tbh, i think we play all of last years top 7 at home in the first half of the season, we need gelling time too. But with our fitness levels and the sheer quality we've brought in I expect us to finish strongly in the second half of the season.
