Off topic but have just seen our old Pal Tancredi reporting Fernando Gago is going back to Boca Juniors for 1.5 million Euros....that is a super snip price! Great player with over 40 international caps for Argentina. Wonder if Poch could have a quick word? Only 27 too!

 

said months ago that I could see Man U going for Morgan and the price being 25-30m. Glad it's just a bloggers rumour though rather than anything real because I think Cortese would see 30m as reasonable business.

 

I can't see man united being willing to even approach the £25m-£30m price tag being banded about, so we should be safe for another year at least.

 

If we can keep together the heart of this team in the coming years, and improve upon it with each transfer window, there's only one direction it's going to go - up. Cortese has to keep the ambition drive going if Saints are to retain the players, as they improve. It's going to be a fascinating next few seasons.

 

Why are we even talking about Morgan leaving? I haven't seen anything that suggests this apart from a blog of on fan.

 

Because it's a scary, scary thought and we can't not think about it.

Apparently, Arsenal have first refusal on Fabregas as well if they bid £25mill.

 

I also heard there's a sizeable sell-on clause, so it's a win/win for Arsenal in any case here.

 

Wenger may have his faults, but Fabregas was one inspired bit of business. Take him from Barcelona for next to nothing when he is 16, sell him for whatever it was (25,30m?) and then have first refusal to buy him back.

 

West Sham after Loic Remy. If they do get him and they can keep him on the pitch (from injury/jail) then he could suit them perfectly. Hit Carroll long on the counter and Remic getting in behind, dropping Nolan deeper. I really don't like the current West Ham, but they would be a tough proposition with a Remy playing regularly with Carroll and I'd consider that good business for them.

 

I'd be surprised if anyone buys him before his trial. I don't know when that is but I suspect it might keep him at QPR until the new year.
