Ive got exactly the same feeling as I did with the Hughes/AJ/Zamora signings. Knowing I hated them and they wouldnt work out but hoping to be wrong. If I hate a player, Im not going to welcome him just because we signed him, that would be massively hypocritical. No one is a doom merchants, this club is massively ****ed on the pitch. Thats a fact.
So Flyer, If he scores the goal that sends us up into the Premiership...Would you cheer then ?? Or would you still keep to your non-hypocrite principles ?
Theres more chance of Tony hiring his stewardesses to give out HT BJs than that happening. I want the club to do well and buying Henry is not going to do that. Im never going to be happy about something that will harm the club.
You didn't answer the question flyer ?? Would you cheer or not ?? (Trust me mate, after meeting you i do know you are a loyal fan....Just a bit too negative at the moment, IMHO)
It was ever thus Stainsey. The problem here is that if any of us had compiled a list of who we wanted to sign Karl Henry would not have been on it, and conversely if we had compiled a list of who we wouldn't want to sign he may well have been on it. Whether he will be good or bad for our club we will have to wait and see, but he is not the inspirational signing we need to lift us. To make matters worse I'd assume that he will be higher in Redknapp's pecking order than Faurlin, a player who does have some creative instinct. I coped watching Barton, I will cope watching Henry.
I suppose it's a bit like when SWP scored the winner vs Chelsea: cheered my head off but it didn't stop me thinking he's totally c**p and all in all a terrible signing. We'll only know if it's Henry's a bad signing once the season kicks off - maybe we should give him a chance.
Of course I would but it would never happen. At the moment about 15th is the best we can hope for. We desperately need players elsewhere but sign a player who is 8th or 9th choice for his position, utterly insane. Its almost as it Redknapp is trying to screw us over before he resigns right after the window closes.
I love QPR Staines in fact we live QPR and of course when a ball is kicked then I always be positive but I would rather play the QPR way at all costs and have always been excited with the squad we have etc Harold is not a good manager IMO and is more a football cartoon character . That was proven by our relegation IMO Sorry I am not keen on what Harold is doing to our team and club but its still QPR
Uncertain about this signing. But happy for Harry to show he has a plan. The negativity on everything that happens at the club is bordering ridiculous, given they haven't been given a chance to prove anything. Have some positivity for ****s sake, there'll be ups and downs ahead this season - it won't be all Henry's fault. It's Harry and the teams time to prove they can succeed. I'm behind them all until they prove otherwise. Onward and upward!!!!
On the spot. He's here now, we'll see what happens. No one wanted him, not a great reputation, two relegations on the trot. Fancies himself, not shy of mouthing off about opponents. He really does have to play well to win us round, I think thats fair. If it doesn't work blame Harold not Kelvin. All in all though I can't work it out. We seem no nearer to offloading Barton, who frankly is a better player, even if I never want to see him in the Hoops again.
Indeed SB - I'm still waiting for someone to explain to me what the overall plan is beyond having 467 midfielders the majority of whom have a massive issue of some kind or another I'm at a loss. Pre-season so far has been a shambles The players we want gone are still here - Barton swp park etc and we still can't sign a decent striker
Isn't that an oxymoron? Unless you have a crystal ball would say the only fact is what happens on the pitch & the score after 90 mins which we'll have to wait to see & after a number of games you're opinion may or may not be right.
I dont really know much about henry so not going to slag him off. I know he got relegated with wolves, but then i think of all the negative posts i read when we signed Nelson, Derry, Mackie etc so i think the bloke at least deserve a fair chance. As others have said, he may just suprise us. he's got my support (for what thats worth) at the moment. Lets wait and see and get behind him.
This, regarding both players ............ I sincerely hope both of them achieve. I know little, if any about Henry so I can't pass judgement on him so all I can do is back him and hope for the best. SWP, like previous years, will start the season off with a clean slate. I will again put all my faith in him to do our team proud ........... Just don't fcuk it up !
you dont need a crystal ball to see we are totally ****ed on the pitch, just look at the last 2 years. it shows zero sign of changing.
