Like I said to Ruff, the last time we started a pre season this badly was 98/99. Might as well give up now...
interesting ..let us see if RVP will pick up more injuries or not in the future http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...aching-methods-says-Dutch-fitness-expert.html
Not interesting but boring. Raymond Verheijen is the Dutch guy who is madly in love with himself and whatever media spotlight he can obtain. Always on Twitter having a go at coaches, teams and national football sides. This is the guy who just 48 hours after Gary Speed was laid to rest went on Twitter (great place to show sensitivity) and said 'Hopefully the board will respect Gary's wish, so Osian Roberts [joint assistant manager] and myself can lead the team to Brazil...There is no need for a new manager with new ideas.' Doesn't seem that controversial but the man is more interested in creating headlines than helping a grieving family and football team. He also predicted Russia whom he advised at Euro 2012 were "without doubt" the best prepared team at the tournament; and yet failed to qualify from their group finishing 3rd. He loves using this phrase dinosaur and Jurassic Park to describe English football. He earlier when David Moyes got the Utd job tweeted: "The dinosaur of all dinosaurs get a 6 year (!) contract to manage one of the biggest clubs in the world. Only possible in Jurassic Park." The man's a total bitter and jealous tool bag.
I totally agree Constcrepe, as soon as I say the name Verheijen I stopped reading, the guy's a douche and has been wrong so many times. At the end of the day he's just a coach, no offece to coaches but he's not a manager yet he speaks to the press as much if not more so than a lot of managers do and it's just to promote himself. As I said before, the guy's a douche.
That was my first thought. If the managers and physios of Chelsea, Arsenal, Spurs, City and Utd are all such 'dinosaurs' as this Verheijen bloke claims, why is he still unemployed? He made the same criticism of Mourinho with his handling of Robben at Chelsea, and Wenger with his handling of RVP at Arsenal. Seems like this guy believe there are no injury prone players, just bad physios. And all the problems could be solved if everyone used his methods
