Nope. Half and half again. Only two "centre-forwards" in the 22 so it looks as if Pigott will replace Kermit at some point. I would like Pigott to be given the chance to show what he can do playing in front of Kermit. Plus I don't think Kermit is best used right at the front. Hope the Pig gets a hat-trick anyway and forces himself into CP's plans. Smith not in the 22 again. Very suspicious considering our shortage of CFs. Maybe gone out on trial elsewhere like Ajayi? Also no Wilson or Wiggins, but Fox and Cousins in. Looks like 4-5-1 to start with Kermit as captain. 6 mins 1-0 Hollands 29 mins 2-0 Harriott (who saw his appalling miss against Portsmouth?). He really is a goal-threat whether scoring or missing. Wasted if he stays out wide. H-T 2-0
2-0 Harriott(s) - well on top. Just got a text to say Hollands' goal was top drawer, really quick thinking.
Absolutely. We are playing Dagenham & Redbridge the lowest placed survivors from last season in the whole league set-up. Doesn't prove anything. Not that I am against playing weak teams in warm up. The greatest team in the history of the universe did it all the time. But it is one thing to experiment with 4-5-1 as an option. Another thing to be forced into it because you have run out of centre-forwards. If Kermit gets an injury early in the season we may have to play Barcelona style without a CF. Luckily we have our own Messi for the occasion.
Game abandoned, ball stuck on roof. (Reminds me of my schooldays). Daggers asked Charlton to chip in half the cost of a new ball but we don't have that sort of money anymore. During the delay seven more changes to add to Button at halftime. Poor old Piglet being flanked by Pritchard and Cook. He will have to do it all on his own. Hope Jackson and Gower can slip him some decent through balls. They found another ball. 15 to go. Still 2-0.
Mass changes - I do hope we're not going to f*** about with substitutions like this against ICT - surely The Good Doctor (in whom we all trust) now has a firm starting eleven plus subs in his sights. You can see it's nearly the start of the season - I'm getting twitchy...
Well, I asume Jumpers for Goalposts would have been out of the question. Tewks, been hunting for a picture of Ken Shabby everywhere, now it's on Facebook, here, everywhere. (Mrs Shabby hates it!! (gulp))
Finished 2-0. Not sure what CP learned from that, hopefully something. He is obviously going to need Kermit on Saturday, so I would have preferred to see him play less time today and Pigott more.
First half was really good. Second half average, although with one terrific spell of passing football. We lined up 4-1-4-1 - possibly a sign that we're not confident of signing any more strikers by August 3rd? Yann did as well as he could, and Harriott got forward to support him quite effectively. Was impressed by Jordan Cousins in the holding midfield role - he blocked most of the Daggers' attacks before they could become dangerous. Green was his usual frustrating self.
