It's clear he cares - you have to question how much though, as some on that list were dross. You can buy striker after striker but if they're all crap it doesn't do much good.
You're forgetting that he also sold some of those strikers, and for a good profit at times - Keane to Liverpool! Yes, mistakes have been made. Personally, I think that a lot of that was down to Comolli. Levy has now, maybe become a tad too conservative. Sometimes you have to trust other people's judgement - just be more sure who you give that trust to.
What's more surprising is that not only did we make our money back on him from Sunderland, but they made a profit selling him on to Villa!
Marca are at it again, saying that Bale has agreed a contract with Real. Highly unlikely, given we haven't granted them permission to speak with him...
Just for a laugh I perused the English Marca website....top two Bale stories: http://www.marca.com/2013/07/23/en/football/real_madrid/1374560684.html ^^This one is perhaps conceivable... http://www.marca.com/2013/07/23/en/football/real_madrid/1374561714.html ^^THIS one has to be utter ****. I can't believe they can actually publish some of this stuff. Surely the first rule of sports fandom in Spain is to never believe Marca?
Adebayor - 2012 - £5m - yep senior striker Coulibaly - 2011 - £2m - youth team punt Van Der Vaart - 2010 - £8m - not a striker Crouch - 2009 - £9m - yep senior striker Keane - 2008 - £12m - yep, but not really £12m more like a really expensive loan for Pool Defoe - 2008 - £15m - yep, fee debatable as buy back due to Pompey crisis Pavlyuchenko - 2008 - £14m - yep Dos Santos - 2007 £4.7m - not a striker Bent - 2006 - £16.5m - yep Mido - 2006 - £4.5m - yep Berbatov - 2005 - £10.9m - yep Rasziak - 2005 - £2m - punt from lower division Defoe - 2003 - £7m - yep Kanoute - 2003 - £3.5m - yep Postiga - 2002 - £6.25m - prospect punt Keane - 2002 - £7m - yep That's 11 senior strikers in 10 years and I would argue that it's actually 9 as Defoe and keane appear twice. The money spent is almost irrelevant as those players have probably been sold for more than we bought them for. Of those 9 only 5 are above £10m, which is cheap for a striker. The Defoe one is a debatable figure too as we prob would not have bought back for £15m cash. Keane is also debatable as we sold him not long before for much more. So really, he's splashed big-ish on a striker 3 times in 10 years (berb, bent, pav)
Don't forget, you spend nearly as much on David Bentley. Didn't sell him on for a profit though .....
Firstly, he's not a striker. Secondly, I suppose Arsenal have never made a mistake like that? If you're going to Wum, don't make it so obvious!...
Not a striker, just a purchase of note. Yes we've had similar players, Arshavin springs to mind. and calm down

Updated the OP as Ryan Mason joins Swindon on a season long loan. We've pretty much got a full squad there now!
Can we really class Rasziak as a striker? Point taken but he has also sold a lot both Defoe and Keane have been sold and returned - granted good business by both by Levy. Just a question, where do you feel we need to strengthen?
