I think we should really go back to old traditions and I look forward to the new baby bumping off both his grandfather and father so he gets to be king. Lets face it, otherwise he'll do well to be king before he's 80. Well surely it wont be George for the 'Madness of' thing, it wont be Richard cos of King Dick, William is his dad (supposedly), Henry his uncle (again, supposedly), Charles his grandfather and Edward his Grand Uncle. So that leaves James!
Hopefully he gets the idea that the Royal Family don't do enough as a ruling family and will abolish parliament and lay down the laws. Then the pillaging begins.
While the nation is told to cringe and gasp at new blue blood being delivered in a private hospital, the nation's red blood, in the form of NHS Plasma Services Ltd., is being delivered to Bain Capital, run by a US hedge fund (founded by Mitt Romney), there to be traded like share options. Extensive coverage of that would be genuine patriotism. Hence, hardly a flicker...... ....The department supposed to look after our health made no health or safety assessment, obscured as it was by 'commercial confidentiality'. This is a health and not a business issue.
When I see people around me suffering to put a meal on the table and I see mp's and royals giving themselves obscene amounts of money in pay rises I find it hard to be happy about Kate and William having a baby. Slag me off as much as you like but I feel I must be true and stick to my beliefs, it sickens me to see the money being wasted in this country.
Agreed. Although, I do think the MPs pay is a separate issue and even though I do think more or less they are under paid for what they do/supposed to do, taking a pay rise, at this moment in time, would be a PR disaster. The fact is that the royals indeed still seem to be some kind of weird opiate/ distraction and object of pride and pleasure for certain sections of the population (cross class/ethnicity/gender I might add). Whilst I would prefer an elected HoS (please no one inanely shout PRESIDENT BLAIR) I can understand the rationale behind the constitutional monarchy – even if I disagree with it. But to think of a grown man who actually feels glad/happy/proud that this baby has been born seems ****ing weird to me. Weirder than non child fans of X Factor and as weird as the ****s who believe soap operas are semi-real. So, can any of the grown ups on here, who are delighted about this news, explain this sickly sycophantic school girl ****ery in written words one may understand?
Mp's pay along with all the expenses that they get and for what they do I feel is enough, what I do really object to is having so many of the buggers. Also why should HCC chief get £160 grand wages, we could do without that post and quite a few others I would imagine, money saved with go a long way towards front line services. As for the royals in my opinion there are too many of them bleeding the country dry for what they do or don't do as the case may be, Queen-next in line -next in line-next in line should be only ones supported, the rest can fend for themselves in my opinion.
