I quite enjoyed the women's world cup. It was very technical and a pretty good standard. I haven't caught any of the European Championships, but I guess with so many of the top ladies teams being non-European it may be that the earlier rounds are a little devoid of talent. I expect the semis and the finals will be better. Let's face it, there are some fairly dire men's games at international level as well. I think it IS a bit chauvinist to assume just because you saw a women's game that was bad, it was because they were women, and not because it was just a bad game. I also don't see why kicking the ball over the half way line is an indication of the standard of play. The goalies could kick the ball to each other on the fly all game, and it would make it worse not better.

now that IS chauvenist , my main point is , look , they dont seem to be able to run very fast or kick the ball more than 30 yards, lets make the ball bit lighter , the pitch a few yards smaller and it might really improve the spectator experience.
When women watch men play football, they usually only care about who has a "nice bum" or whatever... so why shouldn't men watch the women's game like that? Are you in danger of being PC?!
No, not politically correct. You are being a bit of a chauvinist ass, because I doubt you can reasonably say that you have never watched a bad men's game. Yet you watch one women's game and you decide that the game is bad, because they are women. Yes, the women's game is slower and they don't have the same physical ability, but it can be entertaining, and their passing and movement in many ways is as good as the men. I'm not lying, I enjoyed the England/Canada game in the Olympics and the Canada/USA game, as well a couple of the French games. I accept that you were not acting out of malice, because you quite often jump to conclusions and form strong controversial opinions based on little evidence. But in this case it does make you a chauvinist. If you watch a bad game between two African teams (that are not white), and you form the opinion black people cant play football, then you would be a racist.
