And spurs would clearly rather sell to Madrid than a domestic rival. No chance of him going to United IMO. Real would easily match any bid United make. United would be better off going for Modric.
IMO he would be exactly what they needed, someone to control the play from the middle is what United have been sorely lacking. Not sure what kind of form he has shown in Spain since I wont follow anything Spanish (cept Elen Rives), but at Spurs he was good.
So is the lure of Utd for a British player. Similar wages (particularly now Beckham's law is gone), similar global profile, virtually guaranteed CL, arguably better trophy chances, and no need to learn another language or do a big relocation. Didn't Bale suffer homesickness when he first moved to Spurs? The big lure from Real will be the fact that Spurs will do everything they can to get Bale to go there rather than to Utd.
Taken from SSN Here’s the latest on the future of Cesc Fabregas as we await an official response to Manchester United’s second bid. Sky Sports sources understand the Spaniard is considering his position at Barcelona after being given no assurances over a first-team place. Barcelona are understood to be willing to listen to an offer of £35million but would leave any final decision to Fabregas.
true if we are talking about any other country, but i think the fact Bale is British will give UTD an advantage how many British players had their best career in spain? i don't remember anyone tbh
You mean the Welshman he idolised when growing up? I suppose he might do. Almost certainly. The more pertinent question is will we be willing to match the fee. Which is likely to depend on whether the fees being banded around are actually realistic, or the usual "think of a number now treble it" that the media tends to go for when inventing Real Madrid fees post Ronaldo.
Think the chance to emulate Ryan giggs might be something bale thinks about. Didn't he change his number at spurs to 11 recently?
