Beforehand, I would have said agreements could be in place but the club don't want to announce them yet to avoid clubs trying to buy our players on the cheap knowing they are surplus to requirements (aka Reina). However, now that players are returning from the Confed Cup I would be inclined to agree. Why would a club delay an announcement if it means that player can't train?
light jogging would indicate perhaps a little strain, or perhaps something we don't want a contact type session to worsen. with the work load and light jogging i would expect that its minor but he won't feature tomorrow.... more room for downing...
I think they said napoil only "came up" last week so that was why reina was i nthe trianing squad. pacheco was too before his loan came up. publicly we think all is well but we seem to have jumped on napoli and volunteered the laon. why I don't know. I'd say they were stunned and delighted. i wonder if we made omeny on it or did if purely on wages.

So the Reina deal isn't completed because we want a permanent deal, but Rodgers has already come out and said we need him off the wage bill. Good work, that'll drive the price up
Because he's like a politician- everything is calculated to represent what he thinks is the best appearance. I don't think that's such a bad thing- he's not just speaking to the fans, everyone else hears what he says too. He won't want to give too much away.
i wish he'd take the long view not make it up on the day. if you take the long view be consistent on message and frankly be honest but not necessarily open about stuff you don't need to be open on then you look wise. he gave away our motivation for reina not being on the plane and contradicted himself and the club totally in doing so. competition, no competition if the wages are wrong. we'll have to await the next round fo detail on the reain now SAGA... how many sags has brenadna created in his short tenure by doing this... 2, 3? carroll being one. reina soon to be another... i'm sure i'll think of a couple more.
BR saying that Reina and Mignolet will be competing isn't a rumour, BR the backtracking and saying that Reina's wages can't be justified to sit on the bench isn't a rumour also and implies he wants Pepe gone either on loan or a permanent deal. Those are things he's said. Fans aren't getting on his back because of rumours, they're getting on his back because he contradicts himself and because all he's done so far is lower Reina's asking price by having a second first choice keeper brought in all whilst saying Reina is now not wanted (practically).
Here is an idea BR, Ayre and the whole PR team should consider: don't spill the news, until there is news. As Plato said: "A wise man speaks because he has something to say, a fool because he has to say something."

Well how can he win then? If he says that they won't be competing and Reina will be available for transfer his value goes down... If he says they will be competing then back tracks everyone says he's a liar? At the moment no one knows the terms of the Napoli loan, they might be paying us a few million for the year plus his wages with an agreement with Barca already set for next year. None of us know do we.
I could see this coming a mile away. Same debacle with Aquilani, Cole and Carrol. How can anyone justify us paying a team to take a world-class player from us? Especially considering they have recently received £55m.
Saying they were competing was fine. Even if most of us knew it was bollocks, it's the kind of PR bullshit which everyone says and doesn't devalue him. He should have left it there until something concrete was agreed with regards to Reina moving on. As it happens, he's jumped the gun and now said that we don't want him/can't afford him on the bench. That was a mistake. That is what annoys me. He can win easily. Say nothing until there's something to say and keep his cards to his chest. Unfortunately, he can't do that.
