And interspersed are ongoing rumours of marquee buys that never actually become confirmed bids. I am not sure we even confirmed the 20mil for mkhitaryan or that we talked to him. the evidence points to money comes in, money goes out. we have a net spend of 2-3mil max dpeending which way you look at things. there are add ons and so forth but this window we've spent small.... perhaps we've spent well, the players need to prove that themselves over time. I eagerly await some evidence to the contrary. I'd love someone to be bought for 20mil and keep suarez but there no evidence bar certain people at the club saying they've money. I certainly don't mind us "spending wisely" and have a low net spend at all once its done strategically. I said this week i;d not mind if pepe was sold outright for instance but not a stupid loan. Only time will tell just as it has told at spurs that strategically wise reinvesment will or will not pay off. I honestly think that a reasonable supposition would be that until we spend the evidence suggests comes in that we buy only with sales agreed. I meant we are looking to buy once suarez moeny comes available. I have no doubt we are looking but i can walk into harrods and look... same as arsenal..... OR if downing and borini at 8 and 12mil go then it adds to 20i land a bid for one player seeing sterling and ibe fill in. Indeed if we get back and see assaidi leave for 2-3mil then that and spearing could pay for alrderweirld for example. Its a supposition but based on a reasonable set of data. Not great but reasonable. So I await the evidence of a big buy and us holding suarez as long as we can.... I do think we have cash on hand in the form of working capital but we will not eat that in transfers.
I doubt riots but i can see how you will be upset. your team right now hasn't the quality that spurs have and even they are not fully formed as a unit IMO. I do think its down to options. if spurs get a striker and keep bale they will have lots of options and a defense too. Arsenal need t work on thier defense but are very high quality but very similar attacking type sin the middle then the lack of real quality is right up fornt.
Spurs have a better squad than Arsenal right now, even without Soldado who looks like he will join them. Wenger is deluded and probably thinks we can win the title with what he have. I pray he is not as insane as he is acting and has a trick up his sleeve re Suarez because there are no other strikers left for us to get.
I agree with MITO regarding our policy this summer - we're definitely not looking to spend without selling or agreeing a sale first. We didn't actually match Dortmund's offer for Mkhitaryan so didn't bid on that one. If our new signings turn into little bargains, great, but that's not going to be found out til it's too late to change things.
Yeah, I know what you meant. I don't agree as I think we would be looking to buy if Suarez stays. I think the club are waiting because if he stays then the team is built around him, if he goes then the structure may need to change slightly.
thats fair enough. i just look for evidence, i can no longer take the words they say very seriously. in the end if they wait much longer the players targetsed will be at dortmund (done) ac milan or arsenal... Rodgers keeps talking about an attacking option... ayre keeps saying they have the moeny.... the club talked about reina and mingolet together now rather than being pepe's choice it all about wages and he always knew he had to get shut.
