valencia need cash i am sure that clubs will play the long game with valencia and get him cheaper near aug 31. I dunno borini for 12mil to lazio after a year of injuries.... he must suitt hem or must be a darling boy so i don't know why we got him then. Italy likes him.. .go figure. I would like us to stick him up top in preseason as come stoke game we will most likely only have a half fit sturridge at best. We'll see...
Interesting. If there is a sell-on clause like this suggests, would Lyon receive part of the loan fee too?
The other side of it is if we do opt to buy him then it comes out of next year's budget and fans question why we are not spending as much on players because they see it as the same squad with the loanee having already been at the club for a year.
good for them... another club fake bidding... I hope fabregas comes out and says he'd rather cut his own ball sack off than go join them.. would cheer up the gooners i suppose seeing they are bidding for nobody right this second.
Matt Collins ‏@SkySportsMatt 6m SKY SOURCES: Aly Cissokho close to joining Liverpool on a loan deal from Valencia. #LFC
Eóin - Valencia News (@XimoVCF) 7/22/13, 2:50 PM Amadeo Salvo (VCF president) tells @RMValencia this afternoon that it's likely that Aly Cissokho will join Liverpool with an option to buy. Didn't he only join Valencia last season? He can't of done that well then.
He's a decent enough LB, we've looked at him alot over the years. Loan isn't too bad a deal, I guess...good competition and depth and Enrique could always push forward if both playing well
None of them three have shown much interest though, I'd like him to stay but I think deep down he still wants to go.
I have no idea what he wants but just cause the papers haven't picked up interest from them doesn't mean to say it won't happen. Personally, I think Rodgers will talk him into staying one more season and if we don't get CL football then he will let him go. At the end of the day we don't have to sell him unless we think the price is right and arsenal will not pay that much.
Suppose you're right (that doesn't happen too often btw!) Arsenal don't spend big often, if at all. I'd be surprised if they spent £40m on Suarez.
No I'm not. You could and probably will finish higher than that next season but the fact is you are currently quite a distance off Arsenal and Spurs. Your objective this season is to bridge the gap between us while we are looking to bridge the gap between ourselves and the Manc clubs. So obviously the latter scenario will prove far more appealing to any player. Arsenal have more than £100M to spend this Summer. If we only sign a striker then I agree we will win **** all but we have plenty of money to buy a striker and still address other areas of the squad. Our top players have left because we haven't had the money to compete with the top clubs. That is no longer the situation now.
I guess we will see, but considering your record transfer fee is 16m I'm not holding my breath. You also have the added problem of a highly inflated transfer market in which you have to spend 100m to get 50m worth of player, something Wenger has always been reluctant to do. It also doesn't help that you have been brandishing around that fact that you have loads of money to spend so clubs are going to squeeze you for as much as they can get, Its happened at LFC so many times before.
I agree BUT if they don't where would that leave Wenger. Always reluctant to spend big money, now the world know he has it available if he can't attract big name players it would put him under a lot of pressure. Similar with Moyes really. Would fabregas be reluctant to go if SAF was still there?
