Is that not the easiest thing to find out yourself?...I wouldn't have wrote it 2 posts earlier if he wasn't, but as PNP says, he has, but not always.
I'm very happy getting Chadli, because it's a move to address one of our biggest problems last year, and really for some years now: we slip badly when Lennon gets hurt. We'll see whether having another quality winger, who seems to be something of a dangerous dribbler, will help. It goes nicely with getting Paulinho when our biggest single cause of trouble last year was Dembele being out of the lineup. It's nice to see the team taking a pragmatic approach to improvement. On the other hand, I'm a little worred about cutting Gylfi's time, when he's the most creative forward we've got (outside of Bale). If we just let him play I think he'll become a big player. Also, a pragmatic approach won't get us to shell out money on a new striker.
I reckon Baldini's slipped him a roofy or some sort of drug that'll make him say "yes" to Franco's demands.
Is that definitely his agent?! Or just a rumour? Adam suter has just tweeted saying: "Valencia need the money - very very close. can see us getting him now. ties in with info yesterday #soldado" Pinch of salt an'all that, but it's interesting how this picture has emerged too. If its true, I wonder what the bid will be?! I can't even see levy paying the rumoured £18m for someone who is 29 in December...
http://www.insidespanishfootball.co...les-for-roberto-soldado/#.Ue2ZdOozmi8.twitter No way we're paying €26m + add ons. That's bloody ridiculous.
It's from AS, so you'd have thought that they'd have got that right, really. http://futbol.as.com/futbol/2013/07/22/primera/1374501127_974935.html
I wouldn't mind paying that for Soldado to be honest Roo. From what I've seen of him he looks awesome and quite frankly our options are getting more and more limited by the day. Soldado is probably the best striker available to us on the market and so if it means paying a little more than what we usually do I'd say go for it. Sell on value will be low but as of right now, if we're to have even the slightest of chances of keeping Bale for the season after this, we need players that will take us to the Champions League THIS season and so far, Paulinho and Chadli are on that wave length, as is Soldado in my opinion.
Yeah, I guess your right SOS. I just didnt think I'd ever see us do a "van persie" signing. It's come to this because we've faffed about for so long. - now it looks like we're going to be paying the sort of figure we never wanted to, and the player were getting probably isnt one of our first choices. Lets hope he sets the prem alight. - or it's going to be an expensive mistake.
O.k.i'm not going to try and translate the whole bloody thing. In short it says that Soldado could well be a Spurs player by Tuesday I.e. tomorrow. Valencia, as we know, want €30mil. According to this report, we are only a small margin apart, and the talk is that we are prepared to offer 26mil + add- ons. We'll see what happens next!.
Soldado has actually always been my first choice since the season ended, over Benteke and Villa (though perhaps not at £4m!).
Don't suppose we can chuck in Falque to grease the wheels? He's linked with a move away, and it would get around the 30% sell-on fee that Barca would get otherwise.
Soldado's last 5 seasons: 2008/09 @ Getafe - 34 appearances, 13 goals @ 0.382 goals/app 2009/10 @ Getafe - 32 appearances, 20 goals @ 0.625 goals/app 2010/11 @ Valencia - 44 appearances, 25 goals @ 0.568 goals/app 2011/12 @ Valencia - 51 appearances, 27 goals @ 0.529 goals/app 2012/13 @ Valencia - 46 appearances, 30 goals @ 0.652 goals/app So last season was his best season yet - great goal return - consistent too. Over a goal every other match for 5 years running is pretty decent, even going nearly as high as 2 goals every 3. Even if it takes him time to adjust and he can't replicate his current form, I don't think it'd be outrageous to expect 15+ goals in his first season, what with the service he'd get.
I've just read a post elsewhere that claims that Baldini was in Spain for 2 players - 1 of them Soldado. I had hoped the other was Coentrao but this person claims it's Alexis Sanchez. Isn't he a winger? Didn't we just buy a winger?
