It was a measly £25k that was llanelli's problem they had, they could not pay it within the deadline, Now i know llanelli is a strong rugby town but i would have thought someone from llanelli could have loaned or even paid it off, apart from that they have a good set up there and the only supporters they have is very small just a few hundred die hard fans with the rest being jacks from in and around llanelli who only go if our games dont clash....we have been using their ground for reserve and u23 matches which i have attended quite a few times so it beggars belief that we have sat on our backsides and watch our closest neighbors go out of business for the sake of £25k..and why i am angry is not that we never helped them but the fact we think its a good idea to support an english club out because they have financial difficulties.....If we cant help our own then dont rub it in by helping someone else...
I think loads of people are losing the main point here, pre season friendlies are there for the benefit of our team and not anybody else ! Normally we play local clubs and then one or two bigger games at home but this time we are starting early so need to play opposition a little bit higher standard then llanelli, port talbot and neath ! It's not about us being a charity to other teams it's about our prep for Europa league and nothing else ! We played weak teams at the start in holland, but holland was also a chance for the team to bond and build fitness, the games after that have been a bit more decent, den haag, yeovil and to a lesser extent exeter. Playing llanelli this week would have been a waste in terms of competitive edge, little more than a training game , playing a league 2 team is better for our prep than playing a local team around Swansea It is about us at the end of the day ! We do a lot for the local teams and have done for the last few seasons, the reason wedding do it this year is because our agenda is different,we start a lot earlier, imagine how bad it would be playing the likes of port talbot who are only in their first few weeks of pre season themselves, and that's semi pro level ! We should. Consider these factors IMO.
I know, its all my fault, my opinions means nothing. however I do agree with all comments re our cricket side, absolute shambles and a disgrace
geez dai its my opinion only, if you don't agree as I can obviously see you don't, your call, opinions are like assholes, we all have one. we agree to disagree I think.
LIBERTARIAN I refereed to your threat to snipe/troll on this forum Lib, not physically. To tell someone that you will snipe and troll if they make a comment on the forum IS a threat. Do not insult my intelligence by suggesting I meant anything else. It is your opinion that Dreyfus is a consummate sniper, I can't say I agree, but it does shows that you have a history with this poster and I suggested you take up your grievance with our Mods or send a pm in order to resolve your issues. I still hold this opinion. I can't say I was aware of this history before, so in this case I was very surprised to witness you insulting, you name calling, you sniping, a poster on our forum. All this in response to an inconsequential, inoffensive remark he made to a different poster, not you. You are very entitled to your views and you are more than welcome to express them but I stand by my words, that you are not entitled to bully, snipe, name call and insult any poster on our forum. I still ask that you make every effort to resolve your issues to help maintain good humour on our site. I chose to ignore certain posters who I find too negative to consider and that helps me. I'm not telling you what to do but, simply suggesting that you try resolve your issues for harmony's sake.
Sorry to disagree , number two & three are just sponges with no redeeming features .at least No 1 has been made to suffer in having to wait this long for his power trip to start.
Stumpy mate you have got his number bang on. I have seen him be aggressive before to Dreyfus (and others) just because they don't agree with him. Phil spotted it too and I remember Phil having a word with him a few weeks ago and it's also the root cause of my argument with him because I took exception to it too. By the way I had a sneaky look at that app you recommended and its the dogs bollox. Cheers for that I've got it on my phone too now
It's called Livescore and its free you cheeky pair of sods. But no I don't need an app to find a drink
Yep only £25k, but where does it stop ? And why should our club prop up a business that is not solvent ? And you haven't answered something , if Tony Petty was in charge there, would you be so forthcoming for the swans to give him money?
At the end of the day the Swans aint responsible for other teams finances, if we chose to play Exeter then so be it, Laudrup may have fancied getting the players in shape away from the local press and supporters anyway. As I said earlier the club has its own professional reasons for who they play and where !! All this talk of helping out other teams is great but I really believe the club must do what I best for them first !
Guys my boy was there for three years with the U17's, U18's, U19's, and I could tell you some stories, but lets just say it wasn't that well run!.........
