Sagbo and Palicios out of the four will do for me. We do seem to spend a lot of time in the media being linked with the same players as Palace.
He could play there very easily, might not be his best position but never the less hed still be effective
Brilliant. Boyd has ONE bad game and people start slating him off. He's a quality player, and will be very handy in the Premier League. There is no doubting he has class, the same as Koren; I just can't see us sticking Boyd anywhere else but midfielder whilst Aluko's fit.
Do people actually expect us to make 4 more signings?! I'd say 2 more, with Sagbo and Palacios the 2 first choice targets.
I know some people dislike the phrase marquee signing - but what is it when you boil down all the sky hype in a simple and easy to understand phrase, as I would be tempted to say we have already got our marquee signing.
Woah Woah Woah. That's English for stop a horse. I didn't say he wasn't a good player, I really rate him and think he'll be great as a PL player. Boyd can play up front or in an advanced role, but he was played in CM for the last few games of the season and he looked nowhere near as good as he did when played in a more forward position. If you're going to get the best out of a player, he needs to be played where he is most effective, not just where you can fit him in.
Thanks tygertyger - and why people think throwing money at a problem (ie needing strikers) will automatically lead to the correct solution (ie a strikeforce who will score 30 between them) is sometimes wrong. If we brought Rooney and Drogba we would still have the whingers out
Believe me, I've been there. Just get your photo taken and get out. Bring some sort of cooling gel for your hands as you'll be clapping for about an hour straight. Who have you got receiving an honorary degree at yours? We had Paul O' Grady, which was pretty entertaining!
I'd sooner see Boyd play in central midfield ahead of aluko any day, he's played there and been effective for posh. Besides that awful game Boyd played in central midfield wasn't from him not knowing the position, it was from him being knackered and not even able to control the ball or make a simple pass, he could of played anywhere and been ****e that day.
Well Drogba is almost old enough to be someone's grandad and rooneys crap and over rated so neither would be good signings or a solution.
You're spot on mate. Some ridiculous talk on here! I think Bruce has done some fantastic business in this transfer window (far better than I had anticipated) and am very happy with it. Sagbo and Palacios in, and potentially Gedo later on and I think we're sorted. Graham will score the goals we need, I'm sure of it. Graham, Fryatt, Proschwitz, Aluko and Sagbo - There has to be goals in there, not to mention goals from other positions.
You can scrub Cole off the list. Subject to passing a medical he has agreed a one year deal with Crystal Palace ssn report.
You are not alone in thinking that. Though we may well all have to wait until sometime in August and even on deadline day. Steve Bruce is good for that kind of thing you know. About all done it would appear. £860,000 plus add ons a real bargain with little risk. Not that bothered about Cole and Briand actually. Palacios could happen soon as Stoke need to offload some wages to get Nelson Oliveria from Benfica in. Only you would mention names like ^^^^^ that. Aluko is a wide man by trade but his best position is as a Floater just behind the front 2 where he will get time and space. Looking better ^^^ this - but i think SB will improve on that before august 18th. In the hole would be the perfect position for Aluko. When he is not out injured he may well do.
