Probably no, his best chance was at Silverstone and that went away from him. I get the feeling the other teams are getting on top of the tyres now and Mercedes may get left behind a little. Hungary is looking to be 30c+, I can't see Mercedes surviving that too well. Spa may be his last reasonable chance this season.
Would be pretty weird if Hamilton went the season winless, but Rosberg won twice. Nobody called that when his move was announced. That said i definitely feel like his time will come pretty soon. Mercedes have kept up in the development race much better than i expected and i think it's only a matter of time before things fall into place.
I think he will win one eventually probably on a track like Abu Dhabi where he is naturally quite good. He'll be cursing himself for not getting pole at Monaco, that was always going to be his best chance at getting his first win for Mercedes.
If they can find a track again that doesn't chew through Mercedes tyres, the car has the pace to win. A little bit of good fortune may be needed, so far this has evaded him this year.
Unless Mercedes get on top of the tyres then no. If their past record is anything to go by, they will instead get worse.
If he does, I'll be looking forward to the images of Kyle exploding, captured by the Cassini Orbiter.
If the Mercedes remains competitive; if it has not fallen too far to rivals in light of the Young driver/Tyre Test; and if his relatively poor luck changes for the better; I believe Hamilton has a good chance to win a race this year. Then again, three 'ifs' can be a tall order…
I think the revised tyre rules regarding cambers/ pressures and direction have hurt mercedes, so I don't think he'll win this season unless it rains.
I think he'll win at least one. If they can stop Vettel and Raikkonen undercutting them in Hungary, Hamilton should win there. Beyond that, they'll be competitive at wet races and circuits with a low track temperature - it's hard to see Hamilton not winning. I hope he does it in Hungary.
Yeah... me too. I'm not holding my breath though. In all honesty, he's already exceeded what I expected this season, so it's all good either way. If not for some rotten luck at Silverstone, he could have already had that first win. C'est la vie!
This is pretty much how I feel about it; I wouldn't really be surprised either way. I'd love to see him win in Hungary too but, as we've seen already this year, I think the heat and its effects on tyre wear are likely to hamper his progress over the course of the race.
Silverstone would have been his win probably, but with Merc missing the YDT they lost important track & test time, so the chances are pretty low i guess.
If he doesn't then he can look back on some bad luck when he was in positions to do so. No doubt Mercedes have the car to do it now for both Hamilton and Rosberg.
Pretty sure I posted a thread like this a year ago and he won in Canada in the next race. Perhaps next year I'll post this thread a week before the season begins.
