I agree that we cant take risks with our finances, however i think that we would be able to use the extra tv money to cover the wages of a player like Jones or Odemwingie (40k a week?). You also have to think that Jones wouldnt have scored that many goals, because he didnt start many games last season
The Mail has it as £3.5m..... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...gbo-talks--hopes-Wilson-Palacios-reunion.html
I dont mean splashing out mega money, i just think that we could get a player for 3-4mil who would score goals for us, and be on pre 40k wages.
He was behind Crouch and Walters in the 'pecking order'. Graham didnt start many games for Swansea and only played for Sunderland because he was their only option
I wasn't suggesting either would be at the expense of Aluko, so I don't really understand your question, but as an attempt to answer what I think you are asking, I would play Aluko slightly behind those two with a roving role.
Agreed, Aluko would be a good playmaker IMO, and it would give us a very attacking look, with Brady, Elmo, Graham and another striker
But who? That's far easier said than done. Listen, I think we both don't know enough about the finances of our club. So we can't judge what the club can or can't do. Additionaly, I think Bruce is well aware of the striker situation. If he thinks Graham/Sagbo is good enough, it is. And please. Could nobody ever use the word marquee again? It's stupid
----------McGregor---------------- ---Chester--Davies--Figueroa------ Elmo------------------------Brady --------Meyler----Palacious-------- --------------Aluko---------------- -------Graham------Briand---------
Agreed that we dont know enough about the club's finances, however there are players out there that we could get 'on the cheap' i.e. Odemwingie, that would be less of a risk than Sagbo
Forget the marquee signing cause it just will not happen, IMO if we get Palacios that will be it for this transfer window unless we sign Gedo who is reputed to be on the Allams wish list.
I bet with you we had contact with Odemwingie, but talks broke down due him not wanting to move to Hull, or wages, or WBA's demands. That's the point, SB has probably looked at the the BPL options... Edit: Btw., I'd take Odemwingie without a doubt.
Tend to agree, would like to see Odemwingie, but if Bruce reckons Sagbo is the real deal, then I suspect he is. I've only seen 2 minutes total of him on crap youtube clips, so wouldn't want to judge, but I trust Brucies instincts. Also Odemwingie seems determined to stay in London.
Very happy with who ever we do or dont sign. Steve Bruce knows what he is doing.. I will leave it up to him.
Tertiary Syphilis mate, don't worry, the "confusion" stage wears off quite quickly (then teeth drop out etc). A lot of people on here seem to suffer from it!
Aluko is never going to play in the midfield 3. He's as much a central midfielder as Alan Fettis was a striker.
