Andy Johnson to turn down Crystal Palace return to help QPR's promotion bid ANDY JOHNSON would snub a Premier League reunion with Crystal Palace to help fire QPR back to the Premier League. I feel I owe them Andy Johnson Former England striker Johnson, 32, has overcome his injury nightmare at Loftus Road and wants to repay Rangers for sticking by him. Johnson made just four appearances for his new club before a serious knee injury ended his campaign last season. But fit-again Johnson, who is on the radar of old club Palace, said: âQPR stood by me last season and I will do the same by them. I feel I owe them. I want to help them get back into the Premier League â where we belong.â
Just gone up in my estimations ............... hope he stays fit and has his goal-scoring boots on, we need em firing! Ability means a lot, loyalty means everything.
He does owe us but he at least recognises that and is prepared to repay the Club. Means a lot these days. Gone up in my estimation too. OT, does anyone else think he sounds really like Beckham or is it just me?
Good on him. He was playing well when he was injured last season. He seems to be getting back to form now. He could do a job for us in the Championship this season, though long term we need to look for youth
Exactly what I think, he was talking them up so was obviously seeking a move and has now backed off because they wont pay stupid money for an old crock who couldnt score in a brothel.
I don't get the bit where we seen to think he owes us, yes the club looked after him and he feels he should stay around to help us back into the premier league, but he don't owe us anything.
Good to hear. A healthy Andy Johnson is a fantastic option to have for this season. If he steers clear of injuries then I'm predicting 15+ goals from him.
If (and it is a big if) he stays fit he could certainly bag some goals for us next season and it is nice to see a player appreciating what the club has done for him.
Some of you guy are way too negative, I won't lie the same thought crossed my mind but I thought I'd look at the positive instead always wallowing in the ****. I know the last couple of years has knock the stuffing out of us but it looks like some on here are willing us to fail so they can say I told you so.
This. Although I don't think it's 'I told you so' so much as not wanting to be disappointed, and setting negative expectations from the start.
This this ex of ours still manages to bang them in wherever he plays:- please log in to view this image 21 goals in 40 games for Exeter last season - who do we have that scores every couple of games - hopefully Remy this upcoming season? Season 2010-11 at Exeter he scored 17 goals in 41 games. Note he just signed a one year deal with Division 2 Cheltenham where I'm sure he will notch up a few more.
