Wouldn't like to call it. I think it'll be between us, you and city but I haven't a clue about the order.
Depending on who Arsenal sign and to a lesser extent Spurs it could be quite a battle this season. Spurs are linked with David Villa at the minute and that Brazilian guy. Get them and they could sway Bale into staying and would have quite a decent team to be fair.
It's Paulinho I think. Looks a class player. Not sure about David Villa though. He's had a few injuries.
True. I think with a history of injuries in La Liga he is likely to end up in a wheelchair playing in the Premier League. Still if he remained fit he would be a decent buy for them. certainly a player who would strengthen their attack.
I've no idea either. I suspect its not good as I recall reading that Mourinho preferred playing Benzema. I could have got them mixed up though.
Mourinho seemed to be on bad terms with just about everyone at Madrid, and he did in fact drop him in favor of Benzema.
But Spurs only need some solid defenders, not the ones pretending to be, like Vertonghen, Walker and AssouEkotto.
Rather than start a new thread I will stick this in here. I think we should keep all Chelsea discussion in here from now on as well. Swarbs if you agree is it possible to move it all here? Anyway, good for a chuckle http://espnfc.com/news/story/_/id/1503667?cc=5739
He probably should have said, money alone never won anything. Because it hasnt. You still need the right squad, the right manager, the right setup in general. Look at QPR...epic fail....even with cash. If it was only cash that counted, then Chelsea would have won every title from 2004 till 2010 and Man City would have won the last 3 titles on the bounce, since they are both extremely richer THAN YAW!!! But that hasnt been the case.
It's an article that states something as obvious as water is wet. Not news, just filler for lack of anything worthy to print. Money alone, I can't see you winning anything by putting sacks of bank notes on the pitch in the teams colours, money alone will win you nothing
Cech is right... Obviously money helps a lot in order to build up a strong team but you also need the foundations there. Also the fact that all the players can work together. With the money QPR spent I thought they would stay up after the January transfer window... But too many big egos and players being selfish etc. can backfire. Basically you have to spend wisely. We did early on when Roman came but we were also a team who had just got a Champions League place without his money. City weren't and it's taken them their time tbh to get to winning the league etc... For example splashing £30mil on Robinho didn't work out too well... Neither has £50mil for Torres... So Cech has a point...
And referring to the original post... We've also signed Schwarzer now and Van Ginkel. Two very good signings for us. Not expensive either. I see us bringing in Higuain or Rooney and also a midfielder... I reckon it's between us and City for the title atm fellas but if you make one or two big signings you'll be up there too
I think a point worth considering is that even a 13 year old knows what Cech has said, and its been said many many times before by others over and over and over. To say just throwing expensive players together without a plan will not work is obvious to anyone.
What the article is trying to do is have a pop at city by stating the obvious even though it may not be what City are actually doing
