    Strange.

I'm fairly positive that we never replaced Carroll as we didn't have time before the transfer window closed.

I can't see Kuqi in the next years squad list either because he was released as he was a short term body to fill a hole. That would be a strange replacement; don't you think?

Give the transfer window time as it's NOT even open yet...

Kids today. Seems they've all got ADD!

As for Ashley doing the right thing?

Look at the finances. There is your answer.

The club is on a firm setting to break even. Break even!

Ashley has made howlers in the past and by Christ I reckon he'll do it again in the future but for the last 2 years we've been run correctly and a new ethos he's trying to instil of buying the talent when it's young and developing them is looking good.

Sure we'll sell them later on if the bid is right. Arsenal do that and I bet you'd love to have a record like Arsenal?

If we had have gone down you would not be so smug,Wot Ashley did was like taking the breaks of a car and watch it go down a step hill
When will idiots stop backing him and let him make us look like dicks.

I agree that until the end of august we can't say for sure but you know what will happen

Ashley had enough time to sort a replacement as he spent all january trying to off load Carroll.
If it was that short notice we could have threatened the Torres deal stating that if we dont get someone in on loan ie sturridge etc then carroll stays put amnd so does torres

There are so many thing wrong on this thread it is hard to know where to start. First off, Ashley. I hate the man. I hate his whole regime. I will never forgive him for the shame he has brought on our football club. I long for the day he leaves. He has made a catalogue of blunders in his time here to long to list. The latest one being Joey's contract and the last one before that being the sacking of Hughton. I think we all know why that was, the same as most things with him, money. Why pay Hughton what you promised him when you can get Pardew for 5 grand a week. He likes a gamble. His last couple have come off. Pardew has done well and we survived without Carroll or a replacement. I don't like him gambling like that but it's his club. You don't have to like that last statement but all the whining in the world won't change it.

However you can't just not give him credit for what he has done right. We are in a much more stable position financially. And you certainly can't slate him about this transfer windows activities before the window has opened! Being blunt that is just numb. Like you I expect to end up disappointed based on history. There's no getting away from it we've been a selling club under this regime. I expect that to continue. Does that mean we should all just lose the will to live, post negative articles and generally just give up. Just accept the situation for what it is and hope things turn out alright. He owns the club and while he is here he will do as he pleases. I don't think he is trying to deliberately sabotage our club. He just thinks he can do a good job while making a profit. Stop the press! Renound business shrewdy wants to make a profit, big deal. Just support the club and hope things work out in our favour. Carr is a shrewd man and might be able to give Jabba and us what we want.

I take on board what all the Ashley loves are saying.

The club is in the best position ever, half the team are internationals,we are now ready to challenge man utd for the league.I hope the talk that Messi will replace Barton will come true.
Capello has stated thar Ranger is the man to bring the world cup back to England.
The birds are singing Sunderland have gone into receivership,Jose will only be sold for 100 million +

Joking Aside lets start being realistic face facts, I like us all want the club to do well and for myself to eat my words.this is a forum for peps thoughts i will not keep banging on each week about my hate for Ashley but we all know what will happen

Granted theres a load of hyperbole in the middle of that, but the pure facts are that when Ashley took over we had finished 13th in the league with debt spiralling out of control and a squad made up of aging unsaleable former stars which had been in decline since our days in Europe. Four years later we've finished 12th, and are finally looking up rather than down. We've actually got players that other teams are interested in rather than their castoffs, and are investing wisely in young talent that can either do a job for us or else net us a hefty transfer fee to carry this on. Yes, there was a relegation in between, but its undeniable that relegation actually did us good based on this seasons performances.
