He sold you berba for 30m... How much are you willing to spend on bale? £80m? I don't think so. Real madrid on the other hand.. 'Real Madrid chief Florentino Perez has insisted Gareth Bale would be worth the world record £85million it would take to sign him.'
I wouldn't say "won't sell", but he'll do everything in his power to try and find foreign buyers for our biggest players if they make it clear they won't stay. Berbatov and Carrick were slightly different to Bale and Modric, smaller name players who hadn't really impressed anyone outside of this country so Levy had no choice. Bale and Modric are/were impressing clubs throughout Europe.
It won't take that much. As has been pointed out. He won't get sold this year and the price will go down. Next year or the year after he will go and I doubt it will be anywhere near 85million.
I don't think Spurs will sell Bale. I really don't think Spurs will sell Bale. But there is much about Levy to suggest that there is a price at which he will cash in on Bale, whoever the buyer is. I think that was the scenario with Berbatov (record transfer at time).
Why do you think the price will go down? What reason is there to believe that he'll be a worse player in the next 12 months than he has been for the last 12 months?
The simple fact he will have less time on his contract. With 3 years left spurs can talk the talk. 2 years and you start to worry about how little you will get next year and if you get to that final year, well... you're looking at 20million or so.
As I've already said, if he plays again next season as he did last year, then the price could be even higher.
If you can tie him to a new contract you may well be right. Though if you do give him a new contract, bale might insist on a get out clause if you fail to qualify for the champions league. On his current contract I doubt his fee will increase as clubs will realise he's 12 months from being a bargain.
Don't buy it, players prices only really go down in the last year of a contract. As United proved with RVP this year, clubs would rather pay the money to get a player sooner than wait til the contract runs out, and risk losing out.
Do you really think bale will go for £20m even with one year left on his contract? There will be 3-5 clubs bidding for him..
Rooney has 2 years left and is rumoured to be subject to a 20million bid. Now we all know Rooney isn't a 20million player. More like double and then some but because times running out clubs are getting cheeky.
"Rumoured to be the subject of a bid" And what indication is there that United would accept £20m? None at all In fact the noises coming from the club are that he "is not for sale", so the value of the bid is totally irrelevant. Rooney is devalued because he's not a key player for you anymore, unlike Bale will ever be with us. Nothing to do with the contract IMO.
Are you New to this football game purley? With a year left clubs can start thinking about bypassing spurs and offering Bale the money instead. Club A offers Bale a 20million signing on fee and 50million in wages over 4 years. Club B offers him 10million signing on fee but 60million over 5 years. Both spend less that 80million on Bale. Spurs get worried they may end up with nothing and sell for whatever they can get. Twenty million was an example though, not an indication of the price.
Stop acting like a condescending cnut. Why are you here all of a sudden? Because you heard 'rumours' of Bale going to united?
He is but not to the extent of 2/3 years or even 12 months ago. Kagawa is better than him behind the striker and RVP is better than him in the centre forward role. The key thing is, not to sell him to Chelsea.
