Not much change. Pubs had a few makeovers now just one big room with a function room upstairs. More geared for food now but still decent beer etc. The bonus is the smell has finally gone from the gents toilet. The claim to fame is they still possess the best and most powerful hand dryer in the world. The area is more or less the same. More ethnics, students living there now. I lived at Eden vale 15 years ago but then moved about 4 mile away but still use the Chesters as my local.
Lived in Eldon St just round the corner and played for the pool team. Failed my O and A levels there! The toilets stunk then so about bloody time!
Their doing really well thanks mate, growing up fast. Wont be long now till i bring them to the SOL. Hows your family doing?? Hope all is well!
canny mate, little un has just finished nursery and the eldest just finished reception with a straight grade 3 across the board, couldnt be prouder, you right though it all goes too fast
Great stuff, you must be proud. Our boys were 8 months last week. I cant believe we'll be planning their 1st birthday in a couple of months!
The Chesters is set back off the road if I remember right. Can't say I drank in there but they wouldn't have served me as I was at Chester Road primary school at the time. When I was old enough to drink I used to go to the Barnes Hotel, Rosedene and The Stackyard, West Herrington. Are they still there?
Dont know about the stackyard, but rosedene and barnes are still going, both good bait aswell as pints
Me brother has just had a minor operation on his hand, and can't start work until it heals..He does have a couple of things lined up though..Me oldest lad goes away to Uni in September, so will not have a season ticket for the first time since he was four..
Got my tickets for me and my lady. She hasn't been since the derby draw where Gyan equalised. She been very very poorly and I'm proud to have back. The people we usually jump in with from darlington travel far too late, so we're going to make our own way early. Anybody know any women friendly pubs? and does anybody fancy a pint before the game?
