i didn't think carrabuh's post was funny but i do find it slightly ironic that someone who is so adamant that our manager is negative is actually the most negative poster we have on here himself.
I don't think that's irony pyjamas. What is genuine irony is that our most positive posters fully supported our most negative manager.
some of us, no, most of us, could see exactly what the manager was doing and why he was doing it. see if you can work out which group of fans you belong to...
I think everyone could see what he was doing, it was hardly a veiled approach. I don't think "most" agreed with it however.
Did it really work? to my knowledge it didn't, only when an obvious change in mentality with three games to go did a change in results ensue. You have to ask which parts of the season did Hughton have his influence in. The negative, awkward and simplistic football which wasn't around the season before, or the positive attacking intent of the final few games which was in abundance prior to his arrival. Do you not think it was enforced, or do you really think everything just suddenly clicked? I don't think it's difficult to see how Hughton nearly got it so very badly wrong for a such very large part of the season.
So very nearly got it very badly wrong ... but didn't. You'll notice our previous sainted manager had a very similar problem over at his new tiny little backwater club. However, Paul Lambert did it playing "Exciting football" Exciting football that made them lose 8-0 to Chelsea but exciting none the less. It's like we've robbed a bank, got away with it and your worried we spilt a few bills in the bank lobby. We need to improve, yes, but we will and are improving. I did wonder if you were part of the "Hughton didn't do the last two games" conspiracy club. You didn't disappoint me. We didn't land on the moon and the CIA blew up the world trade centre as well durrrrr.
You can wonder all you like, it's entirely true a change of attitude was in place. It's not a conspiracy the evidence was in the players movement and end product. I can't help it if your too dumb to notice, it's no special elite club, just people who are cleverer than yourself.
So you are in the conspiracy club, very interesting. You honestly think Chris Hughton would stay in a job if he'd been undermined like that? You say i'm not intelligent then preach that, incredible. I think it might be possible that the last few games, games we had to win and did win convincingly, went against what you expected and needed to happen to fulfil what you transcribed to happen. It would have fitted the little Norwich mentality perfectly if we'd have thrown it away against Fulham and Man City wouldn't it. We'd all be harking back that it was just like when we chucked it all away against Fulham and Charlton all those years ago and we could go back to the championship and everyone would say what a jolly good show little old Norwich did with the big boys. Bravo. Chrissy would get the sack and everything would come up Carrabuh. Fact is, your plan and view of events went sour. We proved how far we've come as a team and when we were faced with an obstacle we climbed it, we smashed it because we aren't little old Norwich anymore. The old Norwich that would thrown in the Towel against Fulham all those years ago is DEAD. It's over. You try to call our demise by the numbers, by the model of our past and you blew it I don't expect people to stop preaching doom and I don't expect people to stop being negative, this is football after all, but you are going to have to start being more creative because the model you put in place last season, where Norwich try and fail because they are Norwich, it's old. It's passé. The movement was different, the attitude was different, of course it was. What you should draw from that id when we needed the attitude and needed the strength we drew the strength and did it. You are being left behind Carrabuh, this is a new era and your head is in the past.
I think my head has always been in the future, far beyond your own (I use the term lightly because it's not really your own, more an amalgamation on money in the bank and bias). Did the "attitude" and "strength" come from the players or manager then? I'm more inclined to think the attitude was where the problem lied, an attitude instilled by the manager.
Is this the X-Files with Carrabuh? Maybe WBA were on their hols right, yeah, that's right of course they were. So much so they scored 5 against Manchester united the week after. The strength to do what we needed to do came from the manager and players. You are clinging on to this theory it wasn't Hughton because you were wrong. Embarrassingly and massively wrong and the only way you can justify it is that it was some sort of conspiracy. Fact is, you will never be happy with Hughton or any team he creates because he mugged you off and all this attitude stems from that very fact. When Johnny Howson scored that goal against Man City you weren't the only Norwich fan that thought "****" there was a guy on canary call straight after, he might have been the first caller the FIRST CALLER after we've beaten REIGNING CHAMPIONS Manchester City 3-2 away and he was claiming it was all a conspiracy and Hughton had been bypassed and the players had a meeting blahblahblah he sounded just as butthurt as you.
I think the x-files would insinuate a mystery of some sort, but it was clear a change in attitude was in place. I think you need to shut up with this conspiracy joke, I don't think the players changed behind the managers back. As for the rest of your babble about Howson, despite the references to X files your comments seem pretty alien to my own thoughts and I have no idea what you are on about.
SOMETHING changed in those last two games, that's for sure. I find it very hard to believe there was some kind of player revolt because we would have heard about it, so I have to assume it came from CH in conjunction with the players. The mystery for me is why we didn't have that attitude for the fifteen matches before that.
