Agree with this. i think we will go for a top notch player. For where, from where, for what Iv'e no idea. But see it happening. we haven't spent the interest yet. although wages and the newback room staff wouldn't have come cheap.
I don't really see the lad as marquee per say.. hes a great signing and a real coup. I just think we could see a bigger name coming in that will get the media buzzing.
I read the PDC wants more bulletin on Sky earlier and thought no more of it, barring stating the obvious. It's not rocket science the man is going to completely change the personnel and ethics of the team after last seasons showing and there's still a few that I personally would get rid of..
I agree with the sentiment. Before the Confed Cup, who had heard of him? And bear in mind the Confed Cup is very much a second rate comp. He is not a massive name (despite the 56 letters in the name).
A full current Italian international. For me, A marquee signing in every sence of the word. just becasue he didn't cost 25m and go to Man U or Chelsea it's been a bit low key, but it's a huge signing for us.
But surely a marquee signing is more about the name and fuss etc rather than the actual quality of impact that that player might actually have.
I think the marquee signing will be one of the lads we have just bought, who will quickly remind us of how sad the football world has become in extremes of transfer fees, wages and valuations and no doubt we sell him next summer for about ten times what we paid..

I Think it's more to do with our squad size than anything. Although we've declared to listen to offers for any players, only Bardsley is Listed.
Some kids just put on Twitter that he's in Mavrias dads bar in Zante, his dad stating its a done deal & he's bought a house & car already over here. He put a photo of the bar on with a mini shrine to Mavrias so who knows???? Why would the club not announce it yet???
You wouldnt buy a house though if it weren't official. Will be interesting to find out why this & peruzzi signings took so long. We've obviously been Working on these deals for months so pdc can have a full pre season with them.
Peruzzi has gone to asia, waiting on international clearance apparently, mavrias medical was supposedly completed on friday, could be the same thing although there are reports that we have pulled out
