Ha, i know but apparently the reported fee for Alderweireld is around the £7m mark and Insigne is around the £9m mark. =D

One can only hope! If Napoli let Insigne go for less than £15m I'd be amazed though, surely teams would be all over him for £9m, and if he was going for anything less than £12m I'd be devastated if we weren't hammering on Napoli's door day and night.

Don't think we'll get either of those. I'm reserving judgement on Insigne because I reckon there's a chance he's being overrated.

I don't think we're signing players just to stand still and not all the teams that finished above us last season are strengthening their squads with the kind of quality players were in the market for. Were also entering our second PL season having spent the first part of year 1 on a steep learning curve.

With these points in mind sorry but IMHO the only way your prediction makes sense is if the new players fail to live up to expectations in a very big way, and let's hope that never happens :emoticon-0111-blush

Always a chance with players of that type that they will never progress from being a quick mazey dribbler with a lot of tricks and no end product, but when I've seen him he's impressed me to the point where I would be happy take a chance on him.

That being said, as you mention, I don't think there's much chance of us getting either him or Alderweireld.

The Wilfried Zaha type player - the difference between him and Insigne is that Insigne was banging them in in a lower division.

And Insigne is not English, so factually he is almost 500% less likely to be a highly-hyped player who falls flat on his face. <laugh>

You missed my point entirely; my message is that that steam that finishes 14th having scrapped out of a relegation battle, needs to sign more than two players to improve drastically. You said you'd be happy with what we have. I wouldn't; I want to push on.

Incase you still don't understand, I'm not saying well finish 6th.

He is reportedly getting dogs abuse from Roma fans at training.

Hang on. Make your mind up. First you are saying the two we have is enough and no obvious need for improvements anywhere else, now you can't see a vast improvement on last season, which alludes to not enough improvement in the squad. You need to think before you post.

I'm finding myself going back on my original opinion of not wanting him because of his personality. Pochettino will know exactly how disruptive he is, and I trust his word over anyone else's on the matter.

I like Pochettino's style. Am looking forward to seeing what happens when he has a preseason and a whole season with a couple more players. Results are very important, but they are not everything. I want to be proud of my club...and I am.

Indeed, Poche's style is exciting as it can be highly effective when applied correctly which he almost managed within a week let alone what he can do with half a year and a month and a half of preseason. The most important step for him to take now is to try and get a plan B up his sleeve for those direct teams that bypassed our pressure to great effect, if we don't manage that there will always be an underlying weakness to our play.

Much the same. Don't get me wrong, I liked Adkins and his style was alright, but Mauricio seems a bit more... genuine? Is that right?

Nigel just always seemed like he went into character on the camera and was very different off of the camera.

I like how Mauricio seems very hands-on and close to his players. I know some prefer managers to stand-off, but it's fine by me.

In the dressing room that would be a worry, but it'd be exciting on the pitch. Be good to have a 'hate' figure the opposition fans despise.

Adkins' style wasn't balanced; our attack seemed better than it was but our defence wasn't as bad as it seemed. The goals dried up under MP but our defence improved a lot - I think we had the 9th best defence under MP. Our attack wasn't bad either but our goals weren't spread out evenly and our scoring was inconsistent (Man City and Liverpool).
