3-0 Kermorgant pen after Solly pushed in box. Will get silly now with wholesale changes on both sides, but with Wiggins now on Evina is moved to LM. I would like to see him get a whole game there. Harriot has seen plenty of pre-season minutes.

Seems as if Green is prepared to give things a real go this season. Never his biggest fan, but if he can get his act together it will be like signing a new player.

Sounds like a good start for us!! There'll be more testing days than this but you can only beat what's in front of you. I think I'll give my 'next-season-worries' a night off!

Finished 3-0. Sounded like an entertaining game. Useful to assess fitness and attitude of certain players like Coulibaly and Green, but does little to advance teamwork before our first league match in two weeks time. Need to play a settled team against Daggers and the Braveheart mob even if not for the whole match.

Is Jordan Cook the most anonymous player ever to have been on our books? I keep forgetting he is still with us. Rarely gets mentioned in commentaries or reports. Nippy and skilful player but doesn't seem to fit any role in the team. Not really a winger, not really a striker, not really a midfielder. Try him in goal?

    Very pleased with that.

I'll be even more pleased if we can repeat that score next Saturday - and more to the point, the Saturday after that...

Jordan Cook reminds me of the 'John Major-gram' gag in Drop the Dead Donkey. You hire him to come to a party, he turns up, stays a couple of hours and nobody can remember he's been there.

Only one thing stays in my mind about his play - the cross for our goal at St Andrews first game last season.

I must admit, I was very surprised to see him at Welling, as I thought he'd gone to Orient.

Under-21s won 3-1 at Thurrock. I imagine it was the full team, less Cousins and Harriott who were at Portsmouth, plus triallists like Paxman. Muldoon and Pigott scored the first two after we were 0-1 down at HT. I don't know the other scorer.

Perhaps he is an "all action midfielder"

But I am unsure about Green's philosophy of wing-play as quoted in the News Shopper:

“When you play in front of [Chris Solly] or Lawrie Wilson, you know you’re comfortable and you don’t have to overly worry about getting back"

Obviously still doesn't understand why he lost his place .

Not sure Solly and Wilson would be too happy about that!
